Masked Thieves Snatch $100K In Jewelry

Come on NBC, these guys already hit another JC Penney in Carlsbad last night and there's nothing on your website about it.

Of course we're only getting 1/32 of the story (if at that). This is understandable. All these burglaries are under investigation. It's what the media calls a fluid situation, blah, blah, blah. What's ridiculous is that these swarm of burglaries are continuing. It's obvious that jewelry stores located in malls are vulnerable. Not that traditional mom and pop jewelry stores aren't targets too, however just shoving merchandise into flimsy locked drawers or locked glass cases and not a safe seems to be too enticing for these creeps. I'm sure the police are working on theories: 1. Inside job 2. Former employee of either JC Penny or Sears 3. Former "Mall" employee 4. Former contractor to a mall .... etc... So, in light of all this HAS mall secirity stepped up across the region? Has JC Penny and any other mall jewelry stores changed their proceedures? I sure hope they have!
