Ok guys,(and I know there are SOME non-15 year old boys on this forum who will answer this question, and I know the 15 year old boys will comment as well)I have a question for all of you. If you have sex with a woman and it's consentual, and she becomes pregnant with YOUR child, would you support a law that says she has to obtain your consent before deciding to abort YOUR child? Far as I know right now, it's a WOMAN'S right to choose, so that pretty much let's you off the hook. Honest Abe, you ok with that? :) citi

Women have dominion on that issue; it's not down to a poll or a vote.

Tell me you're not so pussy whipped by liberal women that you believe you can't say no??? Say it ain't so! What about YOUR rights as a father? What happened to those? :) citi

I would want to have input in that decision, and if she wanted an abortion and I didn't, then I should be responsible for raising that child and paying all of the expenses, and she should terminate her parental rights.

Absolutely, citi. I know a few guys who's lives were destroyed when their girlfriends aborted their kids against the dad's wishes. These guys would have gladly taken the kids and left the mother alone. PS Don't be a stranger:)

I agree. Just because its a "woman's body" doesn't make it purely a women's issue. I'm pretty sure it takes a man's "input" to create a life too. And besides, what about all the aborted females, then? Don't they have a right..to live?

Thank you Realist. I knew I could count on you for a reasoned reply. I'm curious to see, anecdotally of course, what responses this question will elicit. Funny how in my lifetime, it's never been asked of men. :) citi

As I just replied to ER, WHY aren't men and their feelings and rights ever questioned when it comes to the abortion issue? Don't you guys have a right to say something? Anything? Fact is, I'd like to think maybe men do have something to say and maybe it would be that they want to have their children. Perhaps it's a pipe dream, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks for replying...Mark. :) citi

Even Lenny, who I suspect has something to say, is perhaps he's waiting for the rest of you. Good man JDogg...all children have rights. As do their mothers and fathers. Oh, and you're absolutely right about a man's 'input'. LOL! :) citi

Thanks for replying...Mark. :) citi Not Mark and I am serious. I have a very good friend with a thirty five year alcohol problem because his high school sweetheart aborted his kid and never asked him what he thought. Our laws aren't created to be fair, they're made to give special privilege to the politically protected class; women. In Pennsylvania, if a married woman gives birth to the child of a man other than her husband, upon divorce, the husband is responsible to pay support for that kid as though he was his own, regardless of DNA, etc. The supporters of this injustice claim it goes back to english common law, never mind the modern science. They also neglect to mention that women and children were more chattel than persons under common law. Misrepresenting history, common law and science, all to achieve a gross injustice.

I think the father should have to give consent at his expense of proving he is tho, prebirth paternity tests which I believe could be expensive and harmful?

Then they were just being 'nice'; fetus's are gestated, not 'mothered'. dope wrote: <quoted text> Roe v Wade refers to the "mother" when the child is a fetus. Why are you so stupid?

Irelavant to the laws that exist, the question for me is not whether or not I want to have the choice; but, if I would exercise it depending on the mother in question. Will the kid be ugly or dumb as a result of his genes? Then who cares. Selection of the fittest..
