Look Henry Kriegel is simply put, an incredibly articulate man who really gets down to the meat and bones of the gospel message. He does what all priests SHOULD do. He reads it, meditates on it and then tries (and always succeeds IMO)to put it into a relevant context for our daily lives. I don't know what your issue is with him nor do I care. I love the way he brings Jesus Christ into my life and I pray that God lets him live to be a thousand years old or more! :) citi As stated earlier I have no opinion on kreigel. I just find it odd that you get so defensive when the fact that you are moving from parish to parish to follow a particular priest is pointed out to you. Since you belong to neither parish I would say you belong to the Cult of Personality that follows kreigel.

Kriegel's homilies on line. I don't belong to either parish. Fr. Kriegel has been back in town for 3 years. I didn't RUSH to join St. Pat's, nor would I. And I'm not feeling defensive so you're mistaken on that point as well. Can you accept this simple fact from me: Fr. Kriegel feeds my soul when he takes the time to read, reflect and share the gospel. He brings Christ to my everyday life by making me see not the Christ of 2,000 years ago, but the Christ of today, present and real. I have been a Catholic all my life Roy, and not one other priest has singularly fed my soul the way he does. If that's cultish to you or if it violates some notion that I have to stay in a parish out of some loyalty to a priest who doesn't care enough to even TRY to reach me, then fine--you have your opinion and I have mine. God Bless you Roy...and have a GREAT day! :) citi

And I've had them to my home for dinner and I've been active in ministries and I've done what I've been asked to do financially. You know Roy, Fr. Kriegel has this belief that his homilies ought to be about 7-8 minutes long because he feels that people won't pay much more attention to the message beyond that point (I personally would listen for hours). But he also believes that it's his single, best opportunity during the whole week to deliver that message in such a way that all he NEEDS is 7-8 minutes. He puts in 12-20 hours of meditation and prayer before he even begins to give a homily and that's in addition to all of his duties as a priest. I've heard other priests 'wing it' and think they're really hitting it out of the ballpark and all they're doing is 'winging it'. And Roy, doggone it, you can TELL when a priest cares about what he's doing and you can FEEL the difference. So, Roy..you've misjudged me again. I think he ought to teach other priests how to do what he does, or at the very least how to CARE about that moment in time during the week, when the people are tired and hungry for the Word, when they can feed their people too. God Bless, :) citi

I have to say I was very happy with the education that I got at OLC. It was possibly one of the best that I could have gotten. I’m now in one of the most selective high schools in the state and doing extremely well. I want to thank all of my Middle school teachers for preparing me for High School. I am having no problems at all while everyone around me is talking about how hard it is. Thank you Mr. Eisert for preparing me so well for my high school social studies class, it is truly much easier than your class and I thank you for pushing all of us to prepare us for high school. Thank you Mrs. Ferrara for making us do all of those math problems and helping us to be the best that we possibly could be. Thank you Mr. Hankey, I know almost everything in my Biology Class all thanks to how you taught it. Because of you, I remember everything and I always laugh when I think back to your classes. Lastly but not at all least Thank you Mr. Arndt you really did have the kids in mind. You always tried to help the kids whenever they asked and you also would try to make LA fun. I will always remember my middle school classes and am thankful for OLCS. Lastly Mrs. Carrie was a great principal! Whenever I talked to her she always had the school in mind and I am sad that she is getting hammered for that. The letter she gave us on the night of our graduation was so true and I thank her for her honesty. TL; DR OLC is a great place and I am happy that I graduated from OLCS. All of the teachers that I had were amazing.

My family left St. Judes a few years ago when they were talking about renovating. Michael DeSantis had classes and he was proposing to move the tabernacle, add LCD screens, make the choir more prominent and God know what else. If you haven't had the privilege of meeting him, DeSantis is the arrogant self described "liturgical design consultant" who destroyed Sacred Heart, St. Matthew in the woods and St. Johns. I was tired of being manipulated by DeSantis and Brugger into a ridiculous renovation that was completely unnecessary. We moved to St. Pats because it is a traditional environment with a nice community among the parishioners. The arrival of Kriegel just made a good situation much better.

I also has the joy of fighting of Dr. DeSant-ass and his outright lies regarding the mandated renovations. Non of these renovations were mandated and you could find proof in the book he cited as requiring it. If Brugger and De Sanct-ass were the reasons you left I applaud your choice. Dr. DeSanct-ass actually made the statement to us that he doesn't kneel and pray after receiving communion because he is Christ after receiving Christ. That man is a danger to the faith. You'll also notice he becomes a member of your parish right before he tries to wreck-o-vate it. If you find something special about Kreigal by all means feed your spiritual hunger. I'll stand united with you or anyone else against DeSanct-ass.

I just wanted to change my "name" from RoyBoy is rude. It is nice to hear someone else who is offended by DeSantis. We should organize and keep notes of what arrogant delusional things that he makes up and use them against him. The guy just can't help himself. He just needs to feel superior to other Catholics and must get a real kick out of manipulating people into destroying their churches. He used to work with a Lutheran architect (weborg) and a Russian Orthodox architect (rectenwald)and a crazy vatican 2 architect who is now retired (king) thank god. I remember desantis used to quote martin luther in german and just thought that he was the greatest. He used to call the tabernacle a bread box and was real aggressive about moving it. I just don't get this guy he is not a priest, and not an architect but he is arrogant enough to try to push everyone around. How can he live in such a small catholic community like erie knowing that 75% of the people hate him. I am not using that word lightly, people hate this guy like poison. Does he seriously think that the road to heaven is paved with the stones of the churches he has destroyed. Is making people upset and miserable a christian thing to do? And for what? so that he can get his commission? What a self serving arrogant jerk. If you want to shut him down, ask him at one of his re-education meetings how much your parish is paying him. Ask him if he will get paid more or less if the project goes through or not. That will expose him. He has an paid incentive to destroy churches. The more the construction cost the more he gets paid. What ever crazy made up agenda he has sold the bishop, there is no actual dogma behind it. The Pope dosen't agree with anything he has said, can't wait until we get a new bishop.

Fr. Hoffman was overwhelmed from the day he arrived. He could not handle the number of parishioners, he was a poor communicator. Sermons left you lost and wished you had chosen another mass to attend. Jimmy sounds like he has issues that need to be attended to. He knows nothing about Fr. Detish or his ways of preaching. Money is not so much a factor in religion as Jimmy thinks. It helps pay the bills and the Mortgage. Anyone would be able to understand and benefit from Father Kreigel sermon's over Father Hoffman's. You left mass lost and confused. Best of luck to Jimmy, maybe he can relocate to Fr. Hoffman's new parish.

Every person wo leaves that place is ripped apart by the parents. No only the long list of pricipals, Hagerty, Coach Cardot, parents who finally see the light and now even a priest... everyone who decides to leave that hell hole gets ripped apart. The parents are a nightmare, I wonder why anyone who send their child to that school, especially with Tracy Elementary across the street.

Tanks for the reminder, you also try to rip this woman apart because she wants to keep her job at your crappy school but have her children attend an erie school where they are not bullied.
