Erie's Worst Tippers

I am a server at a shitty restaurant in Erie. All the white trash f$cks who received excellent service but left me a shitty tip- get ready to be famous. I need my job at the moment, but I'm still diligently working on my list of shitty tippers. It will be posted the day I quit. Every night another name, sometimes two. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I give less than great service and a shitty tip is all I deserve. I realize when those times are and wouldn't hold it against anybody. But those a-holes who make me live at their table and run me ragged to leave me a $5 on $55 are going to be wondering why everyone is looking at them funny. It's because you have been exposed as a DOUCHEBAG!! HAHA!

What do waitresses make now? Not even minimum wage is it? I think they deserve a good tip because many waitresses work hard for their money. Especially when they wait on me.(Keep the coffee coming!:)

Go for it! I'm a "20% plus" tipper. My wife says it's the "Daddy's little girl" syndrome. When these young kids are working hard and taking care of me, I tip them the way I would want someone to tip my own kids.
It pays off, I get great service at our "regular" places.

No wonder no one tips you well.

Tipping is an archaic gesture, like marriage. European models damn-near forbid tipping. The American design of compensation of flawed.

But I still tip, because I am American and will act accordingly in this country - but people like you should take a hike, you might be oblivious to peoples current credit balance. We don't all live in Millcreek buddy.

So the people at that table owe you $3.25..So of course you never get the customer that leaves you the $10 tip from that same $55 bill. That is how the restaurant business works. By your comments and complaints I will assume that you are new to this type work. So let me explain this to you, if you average the days receipts and then average your tips it should be around the 15%. Now of course if it is below that,then I would check myself...before I blame life on other people. You should also look as yourself lucky. With the way things are today...you have a job, and people are spending money where you work. One last thing, really think about how you feel about your job...you work at a sh*tty restaurant?

You complain about what the customers don't leave you enough of. From the sound of your character I wonder what diseases you leave your customers !

It's not white's who leave rotten tips it's blacks who leave NO TIPS....she must be a black with an attitute. Poor thing, like none of us bust our asses working for low wages...join the ranks toots.

Waiters/waitresses make a VERY low wage -- they're dependent on TIPS to make up the difference in what they're paid, so they can at least take home enough to pay the bills. And waitering/waitressing isn't easy work -- they're on their feet, carting heavy trays of food, running back and forth and between tables to wait on customers ... and too often getting stiffed by people who leave measly tips or worse, sneak out without even paying for their meal (the cost of which, in many restaurants, then comes out of that server's paycheck.)
With as depressed as the economy is, I think everybody tries to cut corners where they can -- but I'll tell you what: if you can afford to go out to eat, you can SURE afford to leave your server a decent tip. As long as the service you received was acceptable, you should leave an "acceptable" tip -- and if service was better than just "acceptable," I think "generous" is appropriate.
Do you tip your hair stylist? Do you tip bus boys and skycaps? All of these people depend on tips to "earn a living" and I think it's so cheesy for people NOT to tip. That should be figured right into the cost of the "service."
I can remember, growing up (and believe me, we were NOT rich), my mother writing out "Christmas checks" to the milkman and the mailman and the snow plow man -- anyone who provided a "service" to our family. It's a gesture of appreciation for hard work and dedication -- and I think "tipping" has become sort of a lost art in a lot of "service" industries.
I ALWAYS tip -- well.
It's funny that those who don't have much themselves always seem to be the ones who are most generous -- and the ones who can certainly afford it are often the stingiest when it comes to leaving a tip.
I have a friend -- very well off -- who actually used to get out a little calculator to figure "his tip" to the penny. I think that's positively nuts.

i'll give you a tip,,, move up the food chain and get a real job. earn your money. do maggots tip roadkill ?

I don't mean to be crass but I got this from a former waitress that was NOT a people person: shake your ass more. Sadly, manipulating men can be the road to riches for those who dare....

I have been a waitress and bartender for many years. So I know how hard the work is and how low the pay. But, I do know if you do not put forth the effort, you get nothing. It is not all about the "service", being prompt and running for the customer. If you were more friendly than you would not be doing as much running. You would know and be aware of the customers needs. Do you take the customers bill up to the register for them? When you do that and they give you cash, do you give them any ones back? People are running you because you are not giving them what they need or wanted...they may not even know they wanted it. The faster you are and quicker you satisfy the customer, more tables you turn. The more money you will earn. I am a very good and fair tipper, just ask the girls where we eat. If you wanted to put a number on it, I would say on average it is above 20%. The other night we were at the Breakfast Place, our bill was $15, we left a tip of $5. That is our norm. The girls are great, friendly, and know their job.
