Seems like every day I find a new pet peeve and I thought maybe this would be a way for others to vent their pet peeve. I'll start with today's pet peeve.

PEDESTRIANS DOWN TOWN. Everytime I'm on State Street I come across people at various intersections that like to wait until the light is ready to change to decide to cross the street in front of you. What is even worse are the ones that do it with their children in tow. This is really annoying and I find myself at a boil by the time I manage to get out of the downtown.

I hate when people do that too. It's not only annoying but a bit dangerous, especially for the kiddies.

Wait a minute... wouldn't that be a "PED" peeve? The only time I get aggravated by pedestrians is the weekend of Edinboro homecoming -- when the college kids and others 'meander' between the Boro Bar and the Hotel as if they own the street. Other than that, I patiently wait on the pedestrians who cross in the proper zones. It's not worth having a stroke or heart attack over.
Enjoy your weekend, kids!

Otherwise, it's a $100 fine for not stopping and patiently waiting for pedestrians in the cross walks.

My pet peeve: people who ride scooters/wheel chairs in the streets after the city spent all that money to put the ramps on the street corners -- TWICE!!

Fat lazy asshats that use the scooters meant for handicapped in the store instead of walking.

Here's my pet peeve. I just found out when I went to pick up my bidding number for the Millionaire Money Auction that the Times has been running, that schools and churches are also collecting money. So how does a regular person stand a chance at getting anything with that many people banding together to bid on something? What a waste of my time this has been. I'll never do this again.

The crosswalk for Gannon students on W. 7th Street, where there's no crossing guard to interrupt the constant but gaggling stream of students pouring into the street to let motorists past.

What, your pet peeve isn't people who ask questions?

Definitely, and they just step out in front of you, lolly dolly along like they do not have a care in the world. Nevermind the working folks that are trying to get errands done and back to the nagging boss quickly.

That's right, that's exactly what they do ... sashay across the street like time isn't even a factor. And DON'T get me wrong -- I am NOT in that much of a hurry to go ANYWHERE that I want to mow pedestrians down ... it's just the annoyance of wave after wave of "student pedestrians" charging into the street (and they don't even LOOK, just EXPECT you to slam on your brakes and let them pass). At least at the crosswalk on 8th Street, they usually DO have some Gannon guy out there acting as a crossing guard, and letting traffic pass through while he "stops" the students to let a few cars go by.
When I was a kid, they taught you NOT to engage in games of 'chicken" with a two-ton vehicle ... but in the present day, kids are encouraged to step boldly in FRONT of those cars and consequences be damned.
Contrary to modern philosophy, I STILL taught MY kid to "stop, look and listen" -- which is probably why he's still alive today, lol.

I wouldn't spend the time to even think about them -- just feeds their desperate need for attention.

I was wondering about something and don't know who to ask. Maybe you know: does Chandu ever post anymore or is she still around?
