with the playoffs stil a few weeks away, it's time to look at some playoff senarios. it's important for enterprise bulldogs fans to look at what's happening in region 6-2A, because the teams from region 7-2A will play them during the first week of the playoffs. with enterprise's 41-13 loss to mize, enterprise can now finish no higher than third in the region. enterprise is now 0-2 in the region after playing the upper-echelon of the region, the smith county schools, taylorsville and mize. taylorsville is 2-0 and the favorite to win the region. mize is 1-0 and plays bay springs friday night. tge general consensus is that taylorsville and mize will both be 3-0 whan they meet at the end of the season. in region 6-2A 2A heavyweights puckett and loyd star meet in a huge game probably for the region championship. whether enterprise wins 3rd or 4th place, in all likelihhod enterprise will either have to travel to puckett on nov.6, or to brookhaven to face loyd star. puckett's only loss this season was a close oneto bassfield, while loyd star is indefeated with the hallmark victory being the season-opening 12-0 win over frankiln county, which has been one of the better class 3A teams in the south half of the state and have a road victory over region 7-2A leading taylorsville. either loyd star or puckett would be a daunting challenge for enterprise. looking at other 2A teams in the south, it looks like bassfield will win region 8 after escaping with a 29-28 overtime thriller over north forrest. who will finish 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in that region remains to be seen. north forrest plays at lumberton friday and there's no guarantee that they will win. scott central and union seem to be heading for a clash in region 5. the two teams will play at union next week. region is usuall week but this year puckett moved up from 1A and loyd star and wesson have been strong. last year all 4 teams from region 6 were swept in the first round.
