enterprise plays taylorsville friday night in the first game that ''counts.'' it's enterprise's first region game. enterprise is coming off its worst loss and second straight loss of the season. enterprise played terrible in last week's 41-7 loss to seminary. but that's over and now the ''second season'' begins friday against taylorsville. there are some questions going into this game. both team's best players may be out or hampered. enterprise running back roshawn johnson's sprained knee may still be a problem, while taylorsville quarterback and southern miss commit dominique sullivan was injured in last week's 21-0 win over east marion. either way most of the prognostcators aren't giving enterprise much of a chance. it's a typical taylorsville team with a ton of speed and a great quarterback. the most dangerous tarter is sophomore WR/KR fernando hamilton, who's returned a couple of punts for scores this year. we don't know if roshawn johnson will be back at full strenght or not. beating taylorsville will be a difficult proposition regardless. enterprise has three more region games and could still win second place even with a loss. all the rest of the games are region games with the exception of enterprise's oct. 16 game vs. st. andrew's. CLASS 2A PLAYOFF PICTURE--at the mid-point of the season it's time to look at the class 2A playoff picture. it's still early and none of the region championships have been decided. bassfield has already beaten puckett in what could be a preview of the 2A south state championship. scott centrel, puckett, bassfield and taylorsville are all the favorites to win their respective regions. bassfield has to be the favorite to win it all in 2A. they went to quitman a couple of weeks ago and beat them 14-0 on their own field. in the north you have three strong teams--west bolivar, eupora and ackerman. it's still too early to tell, but look for a bassfield/west bolivar championship game with bassfield winning. let's hope enterprise returns to the team they were before the north forrest game and roshawn johnson's injury. with roshawn at full speed, i think enterprise could beat mize, bay springs and stringer and win second place in the region. enterprise beat union on the road, which has turned out to be a pretty good team, and lead north forrest 20-7 just in the first quarter, before the injury.
