There you have it people of Junction City. Mick Wunder has finally been named as the city commisioner that took bribe money from a Lawrence builder. I have been telling you all he was the one who was behind the scandel ever since it broke last month. So for all those nay sayers that thought I was just being too judgemental, I will gladly accept your appologies...not! And to think there were and still are people out there that think Mick Wunder was an oustanding citizen and great spokesperson for Junction City. What a joke! And I have been saying this for years, finally the truth is out. Dont be fooled though, I guarantee that he is not the only city official that has "gotten his hands dirty". There are others, and they will be brought to light soon enough.

Why would anyone sign their real name on a blog...there is a reason why people use screen names and why it is recommended we use screen names...Are you going to start demanding everyone else post their real names on here...Post your first and last name and other personal information and see how fast people start exploiting you.

Well, the first one fell....who will be next? Being indicted with 12 charges will make him start blabbering his guts out, and Richard I agree with you, I don't think that he has acted alone in this mess. And lying to federal grand jury officials, how dumb can Wunder be? He is worse than I had given him credit of being. To the Taxpayers Association...thanks...you were first to try to bring us information that corruption was happening...too bad it took so long for anyone else to wake up other than the FBI, but they have and they can "draw blood".

Don't forget the city manager- I don't imagine Mick will keep many secrets- and how many others would have been in on the lot in Sutter Woods dedicated for Mick?

Bill-
I hope Mick does spill his guts so we can find out who else is involved in this corruption that has happened in JC. Mick has given us just one more reason for everyone to call us "junk town" and after driving through these developments, most of these houses are junk! Where were our city inspectors?

You said it sister! And there is much more "filth" like him (Mick Wunder) that need to be gotten rid of in JC, city manager and a few city commissioners to start. The time of taking advantage of Junction City citizens and using your so called "power" for your own better good is over. We, the citizens of JC are fed up with this "BS" and need to stop looking the other way and letting bygones be bygones as some people would prefer. The election in 2011 needs to be one of epic proportions. We need to send a message to those that think we (the citizens of JC) are not in charge. Stand with me and lets make that change. As the election year approaches, I will make my bid for one of the seats on the JC commission. When the time nears I will run and i will win with your support. I would also like to ask and encourage many citizens of JC to run for city commission as well. If elected, my first priority is to remove Rod Barnes as the city manager. I will also do everything in my power to lower property taxes. I will also introduce some sort of legislation that would have our city commission be a direct reflection of our community. That means the days of having all white male business owners or real estate agents on the commission will be over. Our community is very diverse and our city commission is not a representation of this diversity. Soon I will revel my true identity so that all of JC will know who I really am. Thank you for your time.

I really hope that not too much comes down on the city inspectors if only because the number of homes that were under construction and the politics they had to put up with. Bill Fader, previous JC & County Zoning Administrator, compared what Manhattan has and JC/GC. Inspectors went from 2 to 4; however, they had to handle both JC and the County. As far as the number of Zoning personnel in Manhattan, 5 - 10 times the number that JC has. Some of the time, the JC inspectors only had time to follow-up on complaints from citizens (e.g., subdivision near Sprivalley Elementary).

From what I am seeing, in nearly all posts, are good comments and somewhat good comments. This said, the citizens of JC voted and got what they voted for. However, regardless of the percentage of voters that actually came to cast their vote, another concern of mine is whether the individual voted in is listening and talking with their constituents. What ever the outcome is for JC and it's leaders (good or bad), you - JC Citizen need to come to the JC commission meetings and listen; ask questions; and do your part. The meeting are normally at 7PM on Tuesdays. Here is the site for information on these meetings: http://www.jcks.com/cityservices/commission/a... . Silent JC Majority, stand up for your freedom!

Alright....don't wait to reveal who you are. With all of this hot air you are blowing we need to know who you are. Your keeping secrets does not make us feel any different about you than the people we have had or currently have. Come on...be a man or woman and quit dogging folks. As much as I agree with you I did notice you mentioned "white" male business owners. I hope this is not racial.

What hot air are you thinking I am blowing? And what secrets do you think I have? I do not have nor do I know of any secrets that pertain to the scandal in the city commission. I am not, as you refer to it as "dogging folks"! I speak from the heart and do my best to educate the citizens of JC to all the misconduct that is going on behind their backs. As far as me mentioning the word "white" when referring to the city commisioners. That again is me just being honest. Oh, and by the way, I am a white male by all accounts.

removing Rod Barnes is a great start. But lets not rush to lower taxes while we have record debt and a city hiring freeze. Diversity for appearance purposes would be great because it wouldnt be a distraction from real issues. Im sure thier is a diverse group of people qualified to be good commissioners but lets make the focus on qualified over diversity, we dont need another Obama just for the sake of saying we have diversity.

I am just saying don't wait to reveal yourself. Step up. If you have good things to say the people need to hear them. I have read a lot of your posts. You seem to have a bunch to say. The secrets I was referring to is you not revealing who you are and yet you say you are going to run for commissioner? Step up. The people need honest leaders.

I think all you have to do to qualify for city commission is be able to read, write, and breathe. 99% of JC residents fit that description and can probably do a better job than Mick ever did or some of our current and past commissioners. The record debt is a huge problem and is gonna take huge sacrifices in order to get it paid. However, our property taxes are way to high and there has got to be alternatives means to get the money needed to pay down the debt. This wont ever happen, but how about we get Mick, Rod, and the rest of the city commissioners that voted for these outrageous tax breaks for these home builders and businesses that have come and gone here in JC, pay for it. Or, how about just having the people that voted for these people pay for it. There is no way we could ever make that happen, but its an idea.
