In 1961, Stumpy Point consisted of a small barracks
and dock with a small boat and a old pick-up truck with 8 sailors stationed there.
We manned 3 bombing targets in the sound during the week and chased girls on weekends.
Lovely, lovely tour of duty.

Navy to bomb rebuilt target
The Navy said it would resume training at a bombing range about nine miles from the town of Stumpy Point as early as Monday.
