New 'Citizens' Running For Office

From the looks of things, this sounds like a guy that is pretty miffed by a party that basically ousted him. Either they didn't want him, like him or both. If you Google his name, there really isn't anything noteworthy about his political career, achievements or passion for this new party or quest for real political change. Moreover, how serious and dedicated can this person be when he has a link such as this? http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Wait, I'm confused...so basically they're running an extra republican for board of ed, and an extra democrat for town council...I mean, how drastically could these guys' political ideology have changed since they were active members of either party until just recently? Seems kind of silly to me. I mean, if these guys were long time independents than I would consider it...but it sounds like they're just running with their same political ideologies as petitioning candidates, right?

I am in Windsor Locks and it is the same everywhere. The new tax collector will be a dem named Ron King. He is only in because his wife is on the board of ed. She already got him on the finance board. I guess he is qualified - looks like he has had a lot of jobs - running a Radio Shack in Windsor Locks (oh, out of business) and also a Cumberland Farms. Makes you wonder why they even posted the job for interviews - it was already cut and dried by Con OLeary - he makes all the decisions and all the other dems are afraid to challenge him!

I just saw a story on Fox 61 about this guy's U Tube video making fun of obese and disabled people. Pretty offensive from what I could tell, but I guess he took the video down because it's not on his U Tube page anymore. Wouldn't you think a politician would be more careful about what he says and does on the internet? He didn't do a good job of explaining himself in the interview. I guess he's chances of getting on that school board are pretty slim now.

I saw the Fox 61 video as well. First, where is the regret and sincere apology? This wasn't a case of a lapse in poor judgment or a bad joke, but rather a deliberate attempt to single out and humiliate a group of people. Think about it - he took the time to film unsuspecting people (voyeuristic don't you think?), edit the video and upload it to YouTube and title it "Fat Asses of Universal?!?!?!"

Second, his response to the reporter's comment "You are poking fun at overweight people..." was "I sure am..." What a f'n pr!ck. Sorry for the choice words, but the arrogance that he displayed on the interview just shows how much of a dumb jerk this guy really is.

Based on the interview, it is obvious that this guy shows no remorse and is just upset that he got caught. Makes you wonder how he lives his everyday life. Rather than admit he's a moron, he continues to say that he was poking fun at a 'behavior' and has even gone on to point fingers to opposing political parties (see Journal Inquirer) as the reason why this video surfaced???? Whatever ever happened to accountability?

If the candidates on the South Windsor Citizens group had any brains, they would immediately disassociate themselves from this jerk. That groups sounds suspect as well.

I think the other comment was right. Sounds like a sore loser that can't accept the fact that his former party didn't like him. They probably saw the same jerk that we all saw on the video and wanted to remove that blemish from their party.

This Rick Stahr guy is pretty lucky this Fox 61 story apparently was covered back in the summer and not now, right before the election. If this story came out now, his campaign would have been over. He's lucky people have short memories.
