You just cannot convince people to wear their seat belts, The seat belts are proven to save lives and the fines should be $2,500 for not wearing them, and that fine applys for each passenger not wearing one.

Unfortunate misfortune for these two young women. Both ejected from the vehicle and most likely received that final blow with multiple injuries. Most likely a seat-beat would of saved at least one of the two if the belts were utilized. The roadway on US 54 and US 60 is a simple but treacherous roadway. Messing with cigarette or combing one's hair, looking into the rear-view mirror or just simply not paying attention can cause devastating results. My sincerest condolences are sent to the families of these two individuals...

Highways 54 and 60 do not intersect anywhere near Encino. They meet just over the railroad tracks on the south side of Vaughn, then intersect with 285 to go north through town or south to Roswell. If it was where 54 Y's off from 60/285 it would be just outside of Vaughn.

The only intersection near Encino is just north of town where 60 and 285 split. 285 takes you north to Clines Corners and I-40, 60 takes you west to Willard then Mountainair.

Hey! KOB! You need to get your facts straight before you publish your stories. I just hope you got the names right. I know a lot of people in the area and these two poor souls names do not ring a bell. If they were family of someone I knew I would have recieved a call already so this tells me the young ladies were not from the area. Come on KOB, let's hear some facts.

My prayers go to the families anyway. It's very hard to lose a child or loved one.

When are these people going to learn that seatbelts are put in vehicles to wear in case of an accident and not for sitting on them?

According to one of the other news channels (which doesn't necessarily make it true) they found meth and cocaine in the car. I hope that the driver wasn't under the influence. I know that - whether she was or wasn't doesn't change the fact that she and another person died - it will be so much worse for her family if she WAS under the influence of anything.

We don't use any kind of illegal drugs here. For that matter, we don't drink either. Even so, if my family member was responsible for the death of another person due to DWI (meaning impairment - not necessarily alcohol) I don't know how we would deal with that.

My thoughts and prayers go to all of the families.

They did find drugs (3oz of meth and 2oz of Cocaine) but I really doubt they found them on the driver. I also really doubt she was under the influence. I know there will be more rude comments on the fact that there was drugs, but it doesnt change the fact that two young mothers are dead and that the infant of vanessa will never know her and the other little ones might even forget her when they get older. I hope Leroy (Vanessas boyfriend and father of her children) will live. and also the sister of tabitha. My condolences to the families of them all.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Taurus

It's important that you leave yourself plenty of room to manouvres during the weeks ahead, as Mercury turns retro today, especially when it comes to making decisions and airing your opinions to the world. You need to be as flexible as possible right now, otherwise you could find that you've boxed yourself into a corner and have to do some serious back-tracking. You need to consider all points of view and not just your own.
