Five Children Killed After Vehicle Slides Off Road

Possibly the children might not have been so desperate to get to school (that they had to risk their lives) if Emmett schools had not recently sent home with all children a new attendance policy with the last entry on the page advising that parent/child would be referred to Tim Fleming for PROSECUTION if missing 18 days of school in one year.

It’s ironic that in a country that tells us that any loss of life is worth any cost to save it couldn’t have had some type of guard rail in place to prevent such a slide off into the water. My heart goes out to the families, friends, and community that had to lose their loved ones in such a tragic and unnecessary way. It’s the classic scenario of an intersection that needs a traffic light and after a few fatalities the planning commission bows under pressure- but it took a loss of life before hand. A few months back a Meridian School Employee lost his life because a tree had grown to where it obstructed a stop sign at an intersection. A driver went through that stop sign and struck and killed the other motorist. The very next day the ACHD was out and trimmed the tree. The news coverage had spurred the ADHD to take some action. Now the ADHD said they had “sent a letter to the property owners” informing them that they needed to trim the tree. The property owners say they “never received any such notice!” Shouldn’t the ADHD have trimmed the tree and then sent the property owners a bill? Just where is our tax revenue going in Idaho? The roads are decaying, schools are burning down do to outdated infrastructure, the Government in Idaho represents the wealthy 1% not the common resident. Butch Otter, a Millionaire Businessman is the Governor, he could care less about anything but how he is perceived- certainly he can’t perform. Status quo in Idaho.
