I'm appalled, surprised and insulted that with all of the problems we face as a nation today, there are people who make a big deal about stuff like this, grow some skin and learn to turn away people believe me there are bigger fish to fry as a American/Mexican I can assure you of this.

The costume in NO WAY looks like a Mexican or Hispanic, period. But if the shoe fits....wear it.

After watching Discovery Channel "Oakland Gangs" last night, you couldn't pay me to move there. The city is out of control, due to gang warfare. No thank you! The gangbangers should be rounded up, jailed and deported if applicable.

Oh please-- what a bunch of whiny "teets". Walmart was carrying this costume here in Texas. I saw several little kids, mostly boys, trying it on, in front of their parents. In the vast majority of cases, the parents had a good laugh... probably because the costume is such a blatant caricature of the stereotypical Mexican.

This hearkens back to the "Speedy Gonzales" debacle-- the WB channel/Cartoon Network refuses to show Speedy because they feel that it's offensive to Mexicans (and yes, some Mexicans did complain). However, any Speedy lover can simply turn to Univision or to any one of the television stations that show cartoons in Mexico, and see that the rapid rodent is indeed alive and well and a beloved caricature of the Mexican people.

Maybe Texas beaners just have thicker skins than their California counterparts??

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Taurus

As Mars turns retro, emotional tension makes you feel as though you're walking on eggshells. The temperature has risen by several notches, making the situation at home more fraught. Better to clear the air quickly and cleanly than to sulk and brood in ways that simply prolong the agony.
