Show me the figures where crime was going down and suddenly took a spike upwards right after Quan got elected! Also show me statistics on the downward trend on business which started at the same time. With few exceptions business has been declining in Oakland for years, decades in fact! Just look at the city core and dreary Jack London Square among other areas! The same thing has been happening in other urban areas of course. People pretty much gave up on downtown!

I don't live in or near Oakland any more (but I spent many years in the area) so whether I "deserve her" or not is quite frankly irrelevant. Like I said I wouldn't have voted for her, don't approve at all of her handling, especially early on, of the Occupy movement (those anarchist THUGS in particular!)....BUT...you're ludicrous assertion that she's responsible for all the rising crime and Oakland's problems just doesn't hold water! I'm old enough to remember Oakland in post World War II boom times when it was actually safe to go downtown at night. I've seen it steadily sliding downhill for decades! Most of the decline was in fact beyond the control of any mayor!
