“It's another example of something that's a further burden on the current council -- cleaning up the failed policies of the prior mayor and council”
Almost a dozen home builders say the town of Cary lacks the authority to impose school impact fees on new development and have filed a civil lawsuit in Wake County Superior Court to get their money back. via The Cary News

Cary =
An expensive life, high, New Jersey like taxes, trailer parks, slum lords, Nasty Carpetbaggers, Obnoxious Kalifornians, Rudeness rules the roads, Title One schools all over the place, Children bused 15 miles from home, when there are school right around the corner, Some nice homes, and ancient mobile homes, too, illegal aliens, cut the grass and trim the trees, You can walk all over the place, And there are nice parks, but don't go into the men's bathrooms, Sleezy "downtown" business's, Dropped from 5th to 16th "Best Place to live" by Money Magazine -- I wonder why, Excessive over-building, Cary never meant a developer it didn't like, what is trees today, is housing development tomorrow, Oh, and the traffic........ But it is not just Cary, but Wake County in general. Don't move here, but go to Charlotte instead. Keeping it real, unlike paid by the "Chamber of Commerce" bloggers. |

Cary has a .33% property tax. Ya, that's real high. It's amazing the crap that people will post about Cary. Just jealeous people that have no idea what Cary is about. Glad you are not living in my town.
|
Must be one of those "Chamber of Commerce" clowns or a low-life realtor. How much debt does Cary have these days? How about the quality of life? What about that traffic. Oh yeah, and the trailor parks with all the illegal aliens in them. Yep, the Cary PD won't even go in there unless they have back-up. And what about all those mandatory year round schools, just in Cary. How come SE Raleigh didn't get any MYR schools? Once again, why the 11 city drop in Money Magazine? |

Well let's see Mr/Mrs misinformaton.
The quality of life is awesome here in Cary. Look at any of the national stats. We have an extremely low poverty rate. We have excellent schools. We have a very high household income....around $114,000. We have one of the highest percentages of PhD's. Cary's debt is low, so we have a very high bond rating. We have so much extra cash that we CUT our property tax rate. Trailor parks???? There is only one and it is not part of Cary. It has not been annexed, so it is up to the county's sherriff's department to handle. Year round schools are working for the majority of people. Most people prefer it. Illegal aliens? That is quite an assumption there. Actually, it sounds quite RACIST. So given that point, please do not ever think about moving to our fantastic town. We don't care for RACISTS! SE Raleigh? What do I care about SE Raleigh. It's a freakin' PIT!!!! |

SP2SCV -- funny, you never even answer the question?
Why the 11 city drop (in one year) in Money Magazine? How come only mandatory year round schools in Cary, but not in other parts of the same school system, i.e., SE Raleigh, South Wake County, East Wake County? Also, I suggest you check those tax records again about the trailer parks. See might help clear up your obvious ignorance: http://www.wakegov.com/tax/default.htm So instead of making false assumptions, why not actually answer the questions? Also, how come developer/builders don't pay impact fees on new housing permits. And why has my property values dropped almost 20% in the last two years? We certainly like to see what "sunny" answers you actually come up with? |

11 city drop? Well you can't always be #1 or #5. There are many factors that go into it. At least we are way up on the list. Most are not. I don't see Garner,Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Wake Forest ahead of Cary. Why is that, hmmmmmmm?
http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bpliv... Your ignorance comes blazing through. Cary does not run any school systems. The county does. Wake County has year round schools in ALL towns in Wake County. Get your facts straight! Why did your property value drop? I don't even know where you live. Property values vary greatly by exact location. By the way you talk, I would imagine you do not live in a very educated area and thus probably have a less than desirable house and neighborhood. There is more choice avaliable now, so the less desirable places like yours may lose value, but areas like mine are ding great. People actually WANT to live where I do. Another reason might be that as evidenced by your complete error in statements, you probably over paid for your home, by not having a clue about its value to begin with. Impact fees? Again, check at least SOME facts before you post. Developers pay a lot in impact fees. And when it comes down to it, do you know who pays the developer for the fees? THE BUYER. The ignorance is just absolutely amazing. Either that or it is just a case of troll-itis. |
|
Simply amazing -- it is obviously to anyone with any intelligence that you were educated in the public school system up North.
And just to prove again, how ignorant you really are: http://www.schoolmatters.com/ http://www.wcpss.net/demographics/maps/index.... Year-round maps is on the right side. Notice, no Mandatory year round school "inside-the-beltline " in Raleigh or SE Raleigh. I wonder why? I have now lived in Wake County for 20 years, and 11 years in Cary. I was here in the good ol'e days before the mass development and massive annual school reassignment. Just don't believe the hype put out by the PR companies. So you claimed that you are not paid, then that means that you a probably a just licensed realtor, trolling for potential suckers. |

Homebuilders and anyone related to the home building industry, especially realtors, are the lowest forms of scum on this earth. I have watch this community go from a great place to live to a ghetto of poorly built, cookie-cutter, brown homes.
