Carthage Cop Shoots, Kills Suspect

How are you forced to shoot someone that is running away and shoot them in the back? I need to know how this is justified. There is no threat when somone is running away ( two bullets in the back) that is murder by badge.

I thought you could not shoot a fleeing felon

And if you can unless you are trigger happy why would you shoot someone who is running?

I dont know what they get away with but I do know they have their own rules and those rules are subject to change without notice and if they dont like something or someone they will like magic make things change.

When someone is beating you down with a flashlight and on top of you, how is that running away? The man was on top of the officer beating on him with a flashlight and the officer had to shoot him to get him off! Get your FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU JUDGE PEOPLE!

I must disagree. Carthage isn't strange; it's just different, like all other towns.

Carthage sucks period. I live in it. Can not wait to move to a different area. I did live in Gordonsville. They have thier own laws and you are right they get by with everything around here, including rape. I was raped and had bruises all over and a busted lip. Guy got out of it and never even faced jail. He is still running around free. This is to tell you what kind of law smith county has. You are right, they are strange.

Smith County does have some of the strangest people in it. I moved here about 10 years ago and like I said I can not wait to move. There is some very strange acting people here. Let me tell ya, they are nosy, busy bodies, two faced, they talk about you behind your back. They stick there nose where it doesnt belong. They do not know how to drive. They pass you on the wrong side of the road. They do not even use thier turn signals,and i wouldnt be surprised if they got there liscense out of a cracker jack box. Don't get me wrong. There is some good nice intelligent people here. But, they are far and few between.

Some people are ignorant to the facts of the case and run with "word on the street." Believe me, the State does not hold back on police officers.... They get prosecuted as well if there is any misconduct.
