Retired, I have the time to watch morning television. My wife and I first saw Larry Powalisz on The Morning Blend at TouchTMJ4.com televison show. Nice guy trying to do the right thing to help poor kids.

Kind of a unique story. A retired Milwaukee PD detective writing a children's book.

Then I spoke to a friend who told me that the book MAY become a collector's item. So I drove to Martha Merrell's Books and Cafe, 231 W. Main Street, in downtown Waukesha to buy the book.

Living in Greendale, it was kind of a nice trip. Norm, the bookstore guru, was a heck of a nice guy, too.

I will give the book will be given to my granddaugher at Christmas.

I accidentially stumbled on to the book signing at the store in Waukesha Sunday. The book's represenative seemed like a nice guy. I wasn't planning on purchasing a Christmas gift and didn't have cash with me. I was pleased to learn I could get "The Island Treasure Hunt" and Powalisz's Web site, www.boyzofaloha.com

I found the Island Treausre Hunt while visiting a Marinette bookstore on a recent vacation. My kids loved the illustrations and the story sends a positive message.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aries

You're idealistic and impressionable today, and want to see the best in everyone. Look straight past their faults, pretending they aren't there; concentrate on their good points instead. If a new relationship gets off the ground now it will always be characterized by an aura of romance and fantasy, and a slightly otherworldly quality.
