Hey kids, we have the same thing here in Minneapolis with our own gangbanger culture and you don't have to travel 10,000 miles. Help us!

I don't know what makes some of these people think that there are no children in their own country that need their help. In addition to the area you're thinking of, there are several Native American reservation children who could use more then a little help as well. While they save 7 from dying 10,000 miles away - more then 7 will die in our own country.

Typical ditzy young impressionable girls.........See one documentary, and are totally brainwashed that this is the most important issue for the USA to correct.

Now I'm sure there is truth to the plight of children in Uganda, but like the above posters say, start at home girls.........

The problems are actually worse in North Minneapolis, but it's safer for these girls in Africa.

Their efforts are admirable. Yes, there are issues here but I bet they've raised more to help another human than all of us combined. Personally, I think assisting any country in Africa or the Middle East would be like pushing water up hill but it might make a difference to someone somewhere provided the funds don't get bilked on the way there. The kids feel good about themselves and it's a nice little human interest story.

You are correct but working with people from Milwaukee, Gary or South Chicago it is not as exotic or glamourous as working with people from Uganda. And the people from Uganda actually appreciate the help rather than bitching about everything.

Romance is the highlight of the day. You've been immersed in mundane things for too long now, and you should suddenly come across a person who lightens your mood. Remember, though, that there are no shortcuts if you want stability and have long-term plans.
