Mr. Reid can take his bond issue and shove it! We do not need a new gym with classrooms. We need to move the seventh and eight graders back to KMS where they belong. Moving them to Ellsworth was just was way to try and get a bond issue passed. There is plenty of room for 5-8 in Kanopolis. I do not need my taxes raised anymore than they already are. I will fight to defeat any bond issue. If you are a citizen of Kanopolis, you'd better fight too.

I think taxes are too high here in Ellsworth County as it is. We have good school buildings and should put money into fixing them instead of focusing on building new. If we would take care of what we have, that would be better.

Are you kidding me!$170 a year more on a house that is $100,000.00... taxes and over priced houses! We do not need a new gym or new classrooms. Move the 7th and 8th graders back to KMS where they belong.

Most ot the items on this bond issue can be paid for out of the capital outlay budget. We do not need to raise out mill-levy by more than 14 points and raise out taxes.

During a special meeting of the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327 board of education Tuesday night, Superintendent Eric Reid was directed to pursue a $11.3 million bond issue.
The project will include building a new competition gym at Ellsworth Junior-Senior High School, locker rooms and weight room, remodeling the current locker rooms, enclosing the front entrance of the school, remodeling the current vocational agriculture building with six classrooms, relocating the tennis courts, installing additional parking, and a new industrial arts area.
The project also installs new heating, venting and air conditioning and windows at Kanopolis Middle School.
The target date for voters to decide the bond issue is June 5.
The USD 327 board will conduct a brief meeting next week to review and approve the bond documents. The exact date of the meeting remains undecided.

This "BOND" issue would raise my taxes well over $1,200 as a land owner if passed. I can not afford such a bond issue. I do not think this will pass.

This will also raise taxes for the other communities in ellsworth county that do not go to USD 327. I hope there is enough common sense in this county to vote this down.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Gemini

Today's Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, will have a big impact on your relationships during the next few months, so stand by. If the cracks have been starting to show in a partnership, this could be when they turn into major fault lines that demand action. Can they be repaired or do they spell the end of the line? It may feel like a crisis but that doesn't mean it really is one, so don't over-react.
