Sexton Dental Clinic faces lawsuit from patient

It was Jan, 2007 I came in to get upers and a pashel on the bottem, the next thing I new they all removed.

Arrest them if they tampered with records.

since 2002 my brother had front uppers pulled
and replaced with a denture, i had both and lower dentured made later and plan to ake my sonn there for filling done this week they are worth the drive compared with local dentists they have a
nice new clinic, very clean and friendly, efficent
staff. if they have changed over the years i'll let you know but i expect to find the same as always can't be beat

in reference to above comment.. I did not have to make the long trip to find out if they had changed...I called to see if I would need an appt for relining lower denture. my lower teeth were pulled and denture was made there approx. 2 yrs ago a very rude person told me they do not do relines after 3 mons. their on line ad does not mention this. in it's list price for relines as $45
this certainly was not the polite people I had met the other times I was there as an RN I know how unethical people can hange charts for their own good and I now believe they would do this

My mother's friends over the years up in SC had used Sexton and that's why I went there after getting my income tax money cause for what they wanted for a set of dentures alone in FL, I got put to sleep, teeth pulled and temporary dentures made for less than what I would have paid just for the teeth in FL. I went back the next year and got a new more suitable set of dentures and loved the experience of getting fit the way they did it there. They were just about to open the new clinic and I was really happy they were getting to have a bigger place for everyone.

Sexton is an awesome clinic and I recommend it to anyone who is in need of that service. I can't imagine anyone being rude or unprofessional there. It's just not how things are done in South Carolina. I'm from Laurens, SC originally.

i live in s.c. and have all my life.i know of people who haved used the clinic and have had no problems, and always have heard good things about them.
how ever when i went 2 weeks ago to have my upper teeth pulled, and to get dentures, it was a nightmare for me and another ladie who i could hear from the other room. the dentist who numded me and pulled my teeth was a ruthless cold hearted man, he was so mean to me and to the first ladie who litterly got up out of his chair after pulling a few teeth and made him stop so she could go up stairs to be put to sleep.
i never saw he again, becouse i really wonted to speak to her about our ordeal.
is there anyone out there that has heard of anything like this or how was your visit.
some of the staff was really nice and some were just downright rude.
ya know when your a doctor or any one who deals with the public, you really should have compassion for peolpe, but this dentist was very rude to me, even going as far as to tell me " the pain is all in your head" now to let all of you know, he did stop and yelled at me that if i couldnt take the pain then i could go upstairs to be put under, in which i told him i didnt have the $240.00 to do that right now, then i have to pleed with him to keep on, while the whole time he was very rough and kept on with his rude remarks and haveing a really harsh tone.
so if any one knows any thing like this please tell me how i should feel or what i shoul do.
sheryl, i'm from here too and no things should not be done like this in s.c., what ever happened to southern hospitalty?

i recommend complaints be filed at www.sc.gov the dental board will follow - up.

i'll do that, but this day and time i wonder if that is gonna make any difference, some how i feel like alot of poeple dont wont to be bothered with little things like this.
and as it may be little to them it was and still is huge to me, every time i think about it i get sick on my stomach!!

my husband drove 5 hr from JAX, FL to Sexton Torture Chamber, I mean Dental Clinic to get is teeth extracted and dentures to replace them. The dentist stuck him 32 times with the needle for novocaine(17 viles) and yet still didn't manage to numb his entire mouth. When my husband told him he hadn't numbed the lower back portion completely, the dentist then refused to do any work on him that day. He was told that he had given him the max about of novocaine and that he would have to try again tomorrow(32 more militant sticks after the 32 painful sticks today for no reason other that to be turned away). If that doesn't work then he'll have to be put to sleep and pay $85 per tooth on top of the $1000 he has already paid. The question being "Well since I'm so numb I can't talk right now, can't you at least pull the top that is numb?" The dentist says "ALL AT THE SAME TIME OR NOTHING" and no refund because the dentures are already made. Rude doesn't even come close! Meaning that he will only try to pull all of them tomorrow if he can get his entire mouth numb, which he obviously couldn't manage today. What makes me think he can get it right the next day? What use are dentures if he can use them? My husband is suffering in terrible pain from the bad teeth he has and this barbarous S.O.B. is just trying to take advantage of him. I would never recommend this this seedy, extortionist not even to his fellow Nazi's.

i feel your husbands pain! there is no way this is right!! it pisses me off to the point of no return that this man could do this to people. it sounds like to me this is the same ruthless so called dentist that did me. he litterly threw the tool in his hand on the tray and screamed at me " thats it get up" he was the rudest and meanest man in the world. i dont know how many viles he used and not enough i do know, it didnt sound like he changed but a few times, but to add insult to injury, i ask him if he could use the rest(which was still half full) he told me "just take it, the pain is all in your head". i have had several people to tell me to hire a lawyer. but the thing is, how do you prove this sort of abuse?
i even had one of the employees tell me that "ya know alot of people complain about this dentist" and why isnt something being done about him?
i have had 4 jaw teeth over the last few years pulled and i didnt feel a thing!!!!
really what is the deal with all that?
please tell your hubby to hang in there and i hope he gets some releif soon, this aint no party we are having!! two and a half weeks ago i had mine done and i'm still hurting like crap!! and sent me home with 15 pain pills for 12 teeth pulled!! that was insain!! he aint never had this done to him i bet!!
will you keep in touch to let me know futher on how it goes. i'm really thinking hard about seeing a lawyer. and trust me this aint nothing new to sexton torture chambers, i'm sure!!!

yep that's him. did your hubby get his teeth pulled? i hope he didnt go through the hell i went through, i know you are to expect some pain, but it was pure hell!! there just aint no sense in it!! i wonder how many other people are out there that had the same problems? i think the s.o.b. needs to get another job.

no we got a place up here called Peidmont dental that does the same thing but Sexton was cheeper so we tried goin there. my huband didnt like the way he speaked to him so we came back here and had it done at peidmont this been severl years back

well dr.dontcare is still there, not given a rip about anyons torment!!it wont surprise me if one day he gets some hilbilly redneck in his chair and they rip his face apart. you cant just keep on hurting people like this!!

Is Mr. Scott (Dr dontcare) the only doctor in this office? If so I know I wont be going. Thanks for the warnings.

Is Mr. Scott it? We'll lose money on the hotel etc., but I will not let my husband be abused. Not to mention the fact that I won't have the bail money with me if the Dr. has an attitude!!!

i had mad a comment about how ruthkess he was to an employee, she told me that if i was to come back for any dental work, that he is not there on tue, but sometimes he might be there. if i were you, i would ask, if he is there, then i would ask not to be treated by him.
there are 6 dentist listed on the wall out side, i'm sure he cant be the only one who does work on pulling teeth.
if you do by chance have to have him, then plan on taking $300.00 more dollars, becouse at the first whimper, he will start fussing with you " to get up and go up stairs" thats to be put to sleep.
