After hearing of this story, I was appalled with the Elko County Police Department.

How can they prove that the drugs that were sold/given to Ms. Williams are the actually drugs that caused her overdose and werent a stash she had or werent given to her from another sorce? The autopsy report said that she also had Dextromethorphan in her system. That alone could cause her heart to slow down beating. That medicine is found in OTC cough medicine such as Vicks cough syrup and Robitussin. That medicine is known by many teens for getting you HIGH. The effects are like alcohol, a downer. With the cocktail that girl took... any number of those things could have caused her death. The young girl commited a crime in that she went looking for the pain meds and Mr. Winton commited a crime in that he sold/gave them to her. That is the only crime he should be held responsible for. There is no way to prove that those VERY pills that he supplied her with are the pills that killed her. She could have aquired the same type pills from a friend or family member, and those could be the ones that killed her.

I do feel terrible for the family, on BOTH sides of this story! I think that people are quick to point a finger at Mr. Winton, and not look at the family of Ms. Williams for an explaination. If her friends knew of the addiction, and did nothing, arent they just as guilty of murder as Mr. Winton?

What about the boyfriend? If he had to help her into the house, shouldnt he have called someone before allowing her to pass out or leaving her on the floor. I am sure everyone involved in this story are wishing they wouldve done things differently now, Hind sight is 20/20. Why does Mr. Winton deserve to be punished alone when its apparent that there are many many other culprits involved in this case!

Sounds like Mr Winton is a scape goat for everyone else's guilt. By having charged for murder then they feel off the hook.

The truth is she had another drug in her system which created a lethal coctail. This kills folk on opiate's.

You CANNOT over dose on Darvocet nor valium. You take a couple of Darvocet and valium and mix alcohol with them and you can kiss this earth good bye. Them same for hydrocodone. You will puke you guts up if you take to many but you mix them with cough medicine, xanax, alcohol and or muscle relaxers and you can say goodbye.
It is the coctail that gets folk. This lady died from the coctail and did she mix alcohol in there. Just a little that did draw alarm on autospy.

This is sad. Mr. Winton didn't take a gun or knife to someone against their will not a needle.
She wanted this. this was here decision and her family evidently knew she had a problem and did nothing for how long not just that day.
