Smoking Ban Might Occur Across Illinois

I think they are doing a fine job about the "sinner" smokers now lets see if they can get the drunks off the roads that REALLY kills people.

The smoking ban seems to be going well, but lets see if we can enforce that no cell-phone while your driving law. I have been nearly hit many times walking down the busy streets of the loop by someone who was too busy on their non-hands-free cell phone. Should I even mention that I saw a Chicago officer on a cell phone while driving?? Let's pick the enforcement up a notch...I think this is more serious than the no smoking ban.

There many other important issues that are killing americans. The war in Iraq, drugs, gangs, and drunk driving, etc. Who cares if you die of cancer because you decided to do so. I think addiction can be controlled by the mind and no intervention is required. I guess, I am a casual smoker that can go without a cigarrette for a long time. Anyhow, smoking is fine and should be allow anywhere except, restaurants.

It should be allowed even in restaurants. In this day and age smoking is the least of our worries.

Smokers are not sinners. This is turning into a communist country. We should be allowed to smoke at least in designated smoking sections. We are not hurting anybody but ourselves.

Smoking is relaxing and helps some of us stay out of institutions, and maintain sanity in times of crisis. However that being said it is also a major part of the American Economy. Do you really think you can defeat the BIG TOBACCO COMPANIES!!!!

I think a massive law suit should be in order. The native americans were the group that introduced the tobacco to the invaders thereby hooking them to this nasty drug, it is their fault. I think all the reserverations should be given to the Africans with documentation of past slavery and all casinos should be given to the Italians who have been wrongly accused of criminality as a whole race.

well it should do all those things for ya,

its a drug

try getting off it with some medical help,

then substitute that drug for anti depressants or something similar...better chance they wont kill ya if you follow directions!

Good. I am tired of people with poor manners stinking everything up. Most of them throw their cigarettes out the car window, on the ground...whatever. One less problem in this world. Besides, little kids don't need to be subjected by that any way.

I agress with Neese, people urinating on our lawns, vomitting on the streets without doggie bags to clean up. Killing innocent citizens with their vehicles.

I am not opposed to people smoking in general, but I am disgusted by those who have no courtesy or common sense. I think that it actually has more to say about our society, as a whole, than the actual product. People with cell phones are just as bad, or guns...or anything else. I don't want anything legal banned entirely, it is just that if people can't use good common sense, then we must enforce what should eb common sense in the first place.

tfromalbany mentioned illegals...just another situation that needs to be taken care of. Illegals do not belong here. There is an extremely long line of LEGAL immigrants who want to enter our country, they should get top priority.
