What is wrong with you people? A woman was found dead in the forest preserves. Don't you have any empathy? Anyways....some of your posts are incorrect. I know the gentleman who found her. Her throat was sliced and her eyes were gone. There was blood everywhere and religious material spread about and many other details. It was not suicide. Let's stop judging everyone and pray that they find her killer. I can't believe this wasn't on the news.
Do you really know the gentleman who found her?? Please reply back. Do you know this for a fact - that her throat was indeed, cut?? I am a family member of her's and would really like to know more.

the woman found is my mothers cousin. shes had issues with depression and its believed she commited suicide. her car was in the parking lot and has been sitting there for 2-3 weeks.
no one dumped her body.
I know for a fact that Patti did kill herself. After speaking with several parish members and friends who were closest to her in her last days and weeks, Patti was enthusiastic and on fire for God. She was not suicidal. No one but a few family members believe it and there was no letter shown to anyone reflecting her suicidal tendencies as noted in the newspapers. Where's this letter, I ask, that Patti supposively mailed to her mom?

Patti did not kill herself. I spoke with several parish members and friends of her's and in her last days and weeks, she was very happy and upbeat and was looking for a job. She was not suicidal. Where's this letter Patti supposively mailed to her mom stating that she was depressed? Why be so secretive about her letter?

Has anyone found out if there was a bag packed for that retreat? I think that is a big clue, if there was a bag packed she was intending on going to it. Who was the last person to see her or talk to her? Is there motive for her murder? Was there money? All these questions need to be addressed and investigated. Everyone is too quick about saying it was depression and suicide. I would not rule out murder and would think a full scale investigation should be going on and a questioning of everyone. Guilty till proven innocent should be the way this is handled.
Yes, everyone is quick to judge that she committed suicide when she didn't. She was not depressed. From a good source, her bags were packed, she was ready to go on her retreat and someone killed her. I have no doubt in my mind. Why a very select few of "close" family members insist she was suicidal is beyond me. Why wait till June 2nd to contact the police when they knew days in advance she did not go on her retreat is another question that remains a mystery....

I hope something comes out, so that the family members, friends and anyone whom Patti may have known throughout her life can put closure on this. And just like relative wrote, if anyone does have information, you would be doing a disservice to Patti and her relatives, friends if you had information and did not contact the Cook County Sheriff's Dept. And "relative" I am truly sorry for your loss and I hope this gets solved.

Those of you who knew her and knew she did not kill herself should keep on the investigation. I still say look for motive. Do not presume it was a stranger who killed her. Most of the time the motive is money and many times it is someone the person knew and trusted. Do not let this one slip by. I doubt very much that her car was there 2 to 3 weeks as someone suggested that seems very unlikely.

Patricia's murder was a particularly gruesome affair, mainly because of the condition of her corpse when found. Mcnamara was rotting to pieces after 2 months lying face down and dead in the remote woods where her dead body was dumped. Maggots had denuded her from the waist up. Patricia had size 12 feet. As her feet were still intact -her unusual foot size helped greatly in identifying her putrid remains.

Katherine, are you being for real? Call the Cook Countys Sheriff's Dept. and speak to the Dect. handling the case. And if you know so much, did you have something to do w/ this?

Her "Dad" was shattered mu butt!!! He could have at least sent flowers if he is so ill that he could make his own daughters service!

I happen to be a friend of Patti's Dad, who has been absolutely shattered by this event...As I read some of these "interesting" points of view, some of them by obviously self absorbed individuals, it makes me glad that John doesn't own a computer...To the friends and relatives of Patti, who I'd never met, I say, "She must've been a very special person. I'm sorry for your loss." Please keep her Dad, John, in your prayers. He puts on a strong front, but I can tell that he's having a tough time with it. BTW, he was unable to travel to the service due to health reasons (bad heart). He, in my opinion, might not have survived the trip.

Wow you seem to have some anger issues here. Incase you havent gotten out of the house much sending flowers in lieu of being there is the right thing to do. You know the point still remains what the heck did happen to her? And everyone here arguing with each other is not solving that & no on no matter how they new her no one will ever get peace until that is answered. But if you need to call me names to make yourself feel better go right ahead.

Does anybody know what happened to Patti? There is never any news posted - I thought the autopsy results were to take 6 weeks? I worked with Patti years and years ago, she was such a nice person.

This is just too sad. I recognized the name from high school, class of 81. Noone should make headlines like that. I remember Patty had a funny nickname that was used fondly, it's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't exactly remember it. My heartfelt sympathies to her friends and family members. This is tragic.

I was in the same class too. Her nickname was "Picker" and her sibling was "Critter". Patti was always a nice person.
