Again what does this brand name crap? you are sooo dumb nobody was saying anything about name brands, I myself used to buy that out dated stuff until my whole family got food poisoned from it, so now I just buy cheap, not name brand food that is not expired!!!
Expiration dates are put on food for a good reason, so you dont get food poison, which you can die from, I guess some people dont care about their children!!!
The dates like the other poster stated are on there are to cover the government regulations. Canned items can last for years and years, just like items you can and preserve yourself. If your entire family got sick more than likely it was the stomach flu going around and not food poisoning in the first place. The only way to know if its food poisoning is to go to the doctor and let them determine. Alot of peple say they get food poisoning when its no more than a stomach or intestinal virus! Now days alot of people cannot afford to buy in the stores when they can get great discounts at these places and buy 10 times the food for the price! I don't see anyone falling over dead from eating it do you??? wisen up lady!

lol I love how people think they know all. Just because u spend some time with them in "Breckingridge county" does not make u an expert in all Amish people. I know for a fact some of them in Hardin County use their own waste as fertilizer. So u back off. I never said ALL Amish do this, I said that Amish in general do use it. So before u come at me talking shit get ur shit straight and take a "shot" urself.

They didn't make the bread sold there or the items. I love the Amish & Mennonite people, I grew up around them too back from where I grew up. I'd buy food they did make anyway. They make all their own things and soap and they have restrooms right in that store and other stores where they work. They are VERY hard workers and don't ask for anything but for God to bless them. I can't believe someone would put them down like that, you don't really know what it is like to live their lives or you wouldn't be bad mouthing them!

Oh, why is that? Is there something about their hypocritical, technophobe lifestyle that's so hard to imagine?

I love reading random Topix discussion. People argue and fight over the dumbest crap! People getting all bent out of shape and insulting each other over what is considered to be expired...BAHAHAHAHA...LOL.

BTW...with the exception of meat and dairy..They are not posting expiration dates, they are sell by dates...BIG difference. Things in sealed boxes such as cookies, crackers, cereal ect are good for MONTHS after the sell by date as long as they are in a closed container or have not been opened..

They choose to live like that, they can live like normal people if they wanted to. And there are plenty of them that are just as lazy as anybody else. Most of their work is subpar anyway. What they do to those horses in todays time is animal cruelty, I would like to see them walk from glendale to e-town in the heat or cold.

I have never been to the store, I was just told about it, but as long as the food isnt way over expired than there isnt a problem. As I read on more thru-out everyones comments, there sure is alot of mean words. Come on people, do you think a person who hasnt eaten in a few days cares if a jar of sauce is a week over dated? If you can pay for full price for things, than more power to you, go do and keep your opions to yourself, and let the other majority of the population be happy with trying to save a few dollars.

We bought a self composting toilet and make fertilize out of human waste. You have to know what you are doing though. It's not like you can take it and throw it straight onto the garden. People need to do research. It's like saying if you use rainwater to drink, you'll die. You have to know how to treat it before you use it.It's called self sufficiency.

The food is it all out of date. A lot of the food is just in dented containers or boxes. Also they sell diapers and bathroom products way cheap.

What do you think happens to fertilize when you put it on a plant? The plants soak in the nutrients, so in the long run your eating sh!t.
