So, what does Etown do to celebrate the 4th of July & will there be fireworks at Freeman Lake?

You must be new to Etown cause this town does nothing for holidays such as the 4th of july. If you wanna see fireworks on the 4th you will have to sit across from Severns Valley church. They don't like nonmembers of their church to be on property participating in something that the rich folks paid for.
NOt so true

I believe this year E-town will be celebrating the 4th. Not only for America, but also for founding of Elizabethtown. Not sure if fireworks, but it would seem likely they'll have some.

Sevens valley welcomes all people. Members and non members alike. People sit on ring road to not be stuck in traffic

This is a horribly misguided statement. I'm not a huge fan of that church for various reasons, but it a lie to say they don't let nonmembers on the property. There are activities for kids, anyone's kids, all day long before the fireworks. And it is widely publicized that all are welcome to participate. And why would you want to sit on the church property and look straight up to see the fireworks? That's just dumb

Stephensburg has a big fire work show and a live band in stephensburg but its July 7th since the 4th is falling during the week. They usually have a bigger turnout there than anywhere around, buy your own fireworks is what most do, or be a cheapskate and watch all of your neighbors. lol

Etown will be doing fireworks this year at Freeman lake. 225th anniversary of Etown I believe. Severns valley will not have fireworks this year so everyone can attend the city's show. All are welcome at severns valley for any event obviously.

Severns Valley will also be helping to coordinate the event even though they are not responsible for fire works. Probably will involve the usual children's fun events.

Is it going to be on the 4th? Many times down South they have them the Saturday before or after the 4th, not on the 4th. Thinking about taking my kids because our local fireworks have been canceled due to the burn ban.

They why in the hell reply to this poster? You live here and you will search FURTHER for afternoon agenda? You are full of shit. Not everything revolves around Severns Valley. You live here? You know exactly what is offered in the area and this is NOT the first time you've even had guests. Idiot!

According to the paper, "

Hardin County is booming this Independence Day with a number of events in Elizabethtown, Fort Knox and other areas.

Elizabethtown is hosting its first Founders Day celebration, a hybrid festival for the birth of the city and the birth of the nation, at Freeman Lake Park from 7 a.m. until after 10 p.m.

“We wanted to incorporate a little bit of history to not only educate people and entertain them, but to celebrate the birthday,” said Sarah Vaughn, events coordinator for the city."

Guess she forgot to list Severns Valley as major contributor to the events. Hmmm.

Then why make a point of point out about the tshirts????? You people slay me they way you work, think and want glory, but it's not a big deal. You want to "Own" everything. Whose idea was it to wear tshirts? To call attention to yourself? Lol. Typical but not a big deal. It is a big f'n deal or you wouldn't have brought it up as a defense. Kaboom****** Louie hit that nail on the head.
