Do you know anyone who has failed KAP's drug test. I take Klonopin and they say I had Valium in my system. So they failed me and I should of been done with KAPs in June. Just curious what might happen in Hardin Co Court or what has happened to others.

Klononpin(Clonazepam) is an anti-anxiety medication in the benzodiazepine family, the same family that includes diazepam (Valium), alprazolam (Xanax), lorazepam (Ativan), flurazepam (Dalmane), and others. No wonder you tested positve.

Take your prescription or a written note by your doctor proving you have a medical reason to take it. Then hopefully you shouldnt have any problems. Good luck.

As long as you can prove that a Doctor gave them to you then you should be ok. Good luck!

If you were prescribed the medicine by a doctor and listed it on the sheet of prescribed medications and the doctor who prescribed it can verify if needed, then it is not considered a failure. I administered KAPS drug screens for over 5 years. An MRO9medical Review officer) has to review each positive drug screen and research to see if the positive is legit or not. If you were really prescribed the medicine then you should have no problems at all

Don,
No Wonder in the above thread told you exactly why this drug passed as valium and he is correct they are the same class of medication. Take your dr script in with you and you should be fine as long as it is your prescribed med.

You have to know the whole story....I went through a road block and they searched my car for alcohol but my girlfriend at the time left her purse in the car...in her purse was a maj. roach. It did not belong to me but I was charged with it anyway becasue they said from know on u will know what is in your car. I'm not a druugy. So dont judge me if u dont know the facts.

They are saying I failed because I had valium in my system and not klonopin. But that can't be right. I do have a script for klonopin and have been taking them not valium. Thats what I dont understand, And KAP's says they sent it to the court alright.

You should ask usedtocollectpee
if you take verification from dr that they will register the same on the drug test,if the judge or KAPS director will accept that. Kaps person who does the analysis obviously doesnt know his/her job too well or they would know that it registers the same if it really does.Sounds like you need to go over someones head.Good Luck!

first of all, everyone is correct on what they had said. a medical review officer should have contacted you after your test result came back, if this is a test done through the ky court system or AOC, then the correct procedure is for a mro to contact you. the person who collected your urine should have noted the prescription on the chain of custody form, also, was the test perform by a samsha certified lab or was it just a dip test. if it was a dip test, then by law it should have been sent for further testing to a certified lab. there are so many questions to be asked in your situation. i quess the first place to start would be with your copy of the paper work and look to see if there is a medical review officer listed at the top of it, if so call that person, or call the company that is in charge of the drug testing. i would not give up on fighting this test because there are so many errors made. so keep fighting it.

Hey used to collect pee. Got a question for ya. What happens if u actually fail a drug screen the first time? Do u go to jail ? Does an MRO contact you or what happens. I got a call from KAPS today and said I needed to bring proof if my meds in and I had a drug screen a few weeks ago. I'm worried sick

Sigh....they have explained it twice now. Your test showed positive for a benzodiazipine (drug class that includes both Valium and Klonopin). The test does not tell the difference between the 2. So the lab tech said Valium instead of benzodiazipine to make it easier to understand. However, that was too confusing. Take your prescription evidence and ask for a retest.

I have recently gotten in trouble for something I didn't do and now I have to get drug tested randomly. I have a scrip for Valium but I ran out so I started taking klonopin, I am now worried that I will show up for the klonopin, I know there both in the benzo family, and I know it depends on if it's a 6 or 12 panel test (well I'm guessing that part) but does any one know if I will pass this test? I go into the jail to take it. Let me know if u have actually been in this situation. Thanx
