I notice how many people in our county are on disability (Tags in parking lots) and on welfare. Why do we allow the government to control us in this manner? Where are pride and personal responsibility? I notice almost all of these citizens have tattoos. Paid for by those of us working. Yet, if you believe the tv, there are hundreds hungry in our area. Should people by food or get a tattoo? Imagine if all the people on disability(many who could work) and all the welfare receivers were looking for jobs. There aren't any! We would be demanding that our representatives get some jobs into our country. So what is happening is the government is buying off the citizens to keep them quiet. In this manner, the government is emptying our money out of the treasury. We go to Walmart and spend it on Chinese goods. This moves it to China. If you are on welfare try to get off. If you know some one taking advantage of the disability system, report them. Get a picture. I have heard it said that when a citizenry realizes it can vote itself money that is the end of them. Only we can change it.

Wondering, I agree with you that there is a lot of waste in the running of the welfare benefit programs, but they are not the biggest problems of waste in by our government! The first one that I can think of is GSA, any green energy program, GM bail out, the lack of control of our borders! Here is a link to a news story done Diane Sawyer on government; this one is at the top of my list of waste! abcnews.go.com/.../us-bridges-roads-built-chi... 23, 2011 If we can get the really big waste problems under control and then go after the welfare waste, this would be the best way to get government waste under control. Because the day you start trying to get the welfare programs under control, is the day the people who defrauding the system will take to the street in protest!

I wasnt aware that a handicap parking tag meant somebody was getting a disability/welfare check. People who have those tags often have jobs.

You never seem to argue facts, instead you make fun of people and use slurs because you are too stupid to take people on with the facts! If you think that you are smarter than me, show me where I made an error in my earlier post! For your information, people with the blue permanent window display are in a higher % of people that are drawing a disability check and there is nothing wrong with that fact!

For your information, people with the blue permanent window display are in a higher % of people that are drawing a disability check and there is nothing wrong with that fact! Most people who have difficulty walking because of arthritis, fibromyalgia, COPD, asthma, etc, are unable to work as well. For years, I would struggle to walk into a shopping center, even though we had a handicapped sticker for my spouse, who was on a walker. Many of us would rather be working and not have the need for a sticker. How sad that anger is directed to us because of our disability.

I also wish that people would stop being so mean to those that are on welfare or have a disability? I never asked to be this way, I never thought my life would turn out this way either. I would give anything to work and make a hearty income like other families, but this was the card God dealt to me so I must do the best with what I can. It's hard enough to be on a limited income that barely pays the bills and then have people automatically assume I'm "just lazy" when I tell them I'm on disability. Also, if you think reporting it or taking a picture is going to solve the problem think again. Only a good lawyer and a judge can appoint disability to someone, just as they can take it away. So if you report somebody you will also be required to go in front of a judge with that person and their attorney with proven facts as to why they are no longer entitled to their benefits. This in turn could allow them to turn around and countersue you for distress and harrassing. Please, don't judge until you have walked a mile in the truly disabled shoes!

Have there been any negative comments in any of my post towards people with handicape stickers? The answer is NO! I have had both hips and knees replaced due to injuries that happened while on active duty in the army and I have never said any bad towards anyone that is hadicaped. I have made comments about people who abuse the system! I would like to see those people who are abusing the system, taken out back and have their knees crushed!

My comments were meant to make people think. The ones who defend sitting at home are the ones who have given in to the bribery by the government. "Just give them a check and they won't complain about anything" So I was right. People want to complain about life but aren't interested in changing it. I would like some state to say that they want all federal assistance stopped because like the leader in Africa who said to stop, I know without restoring people's pride and self-reliance the country will never get better. That is what we have always had going for us. Now we don't have it. Just my opinion. We all have one.

Bribery from the government is not the reason I became disabled, and it has nothing to do with my pride or self-reliance either, that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while. I don't know what kind of thinking you were trying to get people to do, but you must live in a fantasy world in your head because your points are totally invalid.

It seems a few feathers have been ruffled by my comments. That was my intent. Think about what you see in our community. I am not talking about everyone but about the people abusing the system. There are plenty. Imagine those people out there on welfare were looking for jobs. There would not be any out there and people would complaining to the government. So as long as that check comes in the officals hear no complaints. It is kind of like foreign aid. The countries get their"checks" as long as they keep quiet and do like our country wants. If you are on welfare or abusing the disability system, do you think about the fact you are using someone else's money? Do you budget it and spend it wisely? Do you encourage your children to get an education so they don't end up in the same boat? Do you tell them it isn't right? Or do you let them believe it is a legacy? How many generations of your family have been on assistance? We have to change our mind set to ever change our community. Easy? No

I know they are people that receive disability and assistance that need it, although I've yet to see it. From my experience, the people I know are totally able to work, but somehow they screwed the system/tax payer into a check, food, free schooling, and housing. I just don't understand how, and to make matters worse, many are totally depended on drugs. I know they are people in need, and it doesn't bother me giving ample amounts of my check to them. I heard this excuse a few months ago, as I gave someone a tip about a job opening; "do they take taxes out, because that will disrupt my food stamps"....REALLY!!!! Both my husband and myself work and I'm sure these people eat better than our family, that's the part that grips me. Give the people that work a break! Smart cons can disrupt America in so many ways. Hopefully, when I reach the age to draw SS, they'll be enough left for the working man. In my eyes these people have left America in a huge bind.

Well, if you go and vote for Romney/Ryan, you won't have to worry about drawing Social Security. Ryan wants to get rid of SS, Medicare, and Medicaid....plus Obamacare. That ought to get rid of a lot of old folks and disabled people. Isn't that wonderful!

Gene, its BS like you posted, to try and scare seniors, that the Obamaites use to get reelected. If you would take the time to and comprehend the Romney Ryan plan you would realize that it saves SS Medicare. BOTH PARTIES agree that Medicare and SS in their current form will be bankrupt in a little over a decade; there must be reform to save it. Differnce is R and R have the guts to tell us the honest truth while Obama and Blinky just want to scare old people into voting for them to get another term. Obama is a left wing progressive who wants our country to be run like a European country. NO Sir thank you. Our forefathers came over here two hundred forty years ago to escape that type of government. Stand up America. Take our country back!!!
