Elizabeth City police officer killed in traffic accident - WTKR

For your information please NEVER swerve to avoid a deer or an animal on any road! stats show that you are much safer hitting the animal and dealing with the results...usually the animal flips onto the hood and breaks the windshield...little more. God blessthis man, but use thus unfo for future reference.

Officer Moore was Elizabeth City's Finest Police officer he will be truly missed.

How sad...my heart and prayers goes to the family and classmates.

Even though seatbelts increase your chances of surviving an accident its still possible to get killed when wearing one.

I knew officer Moore personally and I never saw him without a smile and even when a person was down it seemed that he always had a good word to cheer you up. I am really saddened by this tragedy but God has taken an angel. I hope that his memory will stay alive and that everyone that he touched be comforted in this time of sorrow.

You were an amazing officer and it was an honor to dispatch for you. RIP Lonnie

One of the finest and one of the favorite nephew will truly be mess. Just want to say that GOD does not make any mistake and we will truly miss you.

I had the priviledge of working with you for 3 years and in that time I never heard you say a cross word about anyone...you will truly be missed...my heart goes out to your family.

I have not seen Lonnie in 30 years; we reconnected a few months ago and was looking forward to a visit to go fishing on Monday but we put the trip off. Even though I had not seen Lonnie in all the years we picked up and did not miss a beat. My heart is very sad. I speak for the Hillcrest Class of 1980 "Lonnie we love you and miss you" RIP

She is the woman who won his heart and was there for him through thick and thin. And like she said the person that he shared everything with,his trust, his heart, his love and most of all his secrets. So let us all leave her alone and let her grieve for her one true love. And remember that all secrets are not carried to the grave.

I pray that God will keep you and give you the strength to move on. Please allow this man to rest in peace. And let us pray that as time goes on this will get eaiser, especailly for his son and daughter and this wonderful woman that was honored for being his wife. And it was not they who honored her. It was actually Lonnie who loved her and honored her.
