taylor & Robbins Guns

Am trying to find out more about Taylor & Robbins custom guns which I believe were produced near Duke Center. Know anything? How to contact?

They were "golden era" gunsmiths from the 1940's. If you have one of their rifles - it is probably worth someting. I met Don Robbins maybe 10 years ago. My Dad was doing an article on them for "Precision Shooting" Magazine. You can probably get some info from that.

were located in marshburg, pa. ive had opportunit to use their 25 souper and 219 donaldson - very nice firearms.

I grew up about 5 miles from their gun shop and spent quite a bit of time there. My dad was a very close personal friend of Clair Taylor who was a great story teller. If memory serves me correctly Don Robbins was his son-in-law. One interesting thing about Don was that he made banjos as a hobby but couldn't play a lick. My Dad could play and when he would stop in and Don had a new banjo Dad would go in the back and play it for Don. At one time I owned one of there .219's. It was built on a Springfield action that interestingly enough has the cut in its side for the Pedersen device (if you know what that was). The stock was 3 piece laminated walnut. double set triggers with a Unertl 20X target scope. Needless to say it shot very well. Sorry I got rid of it. I now am negotiating on one of their sporter rifles. I hope it comes about.

How can you identify their guns? is there proof marks or a name stamped on the barrel?
