Centinela Valley head accuses SCROC of violations

I smell a power play and political grandstanding. I suspect there is an ugly underlying motivation here. Not a whole lot different than what we are seeing in the Middle East.

So CVHSD trustees want to mess up this program as well. Most of your better academic teachers left for the new charter high schools. When a brilliant math teacher and a former graduate left, I realized how bad it had gotten. Let the kids go to vocational training where it is now. You would probably cut and ruin the program once you gotr your hands on it. These programs require materials and machines that you do not have.

I would definitely question CVHSD's motive! They said legislation passed this summer will allow them to keep the 1.2M they currently give to SCROC?!...hmm...seems to me they are looking for a way to cheat the students by asserting a problem with SCROC and removing their students from the program so the 1.2M can get put into some administrator's pocket!

SCROC offers LIFE skills! Something students DO NOT get from high school. I think these classes should be MANDATORY.

WOW....Fernandez accusing someone else of illegal governing practices and withholding financial information and HE wants more transparency???? AMAZING that is ALL the things the teachers, students and parents have been asking of HIM & CVU........Fernandez & CVU have dismissed and made excuses for our requests for the last 2 years and now he has the nerve to ask for all of these things from another instittuion?? It is all about the money, he wants to cut off more resources for our students so that he can get another raise next year. This is just another example of why we need to get rid of Fernandez and his Board of Puppets!!!!

Oh really! Can or rather Will Centinela Valley provide the following services? I doubt it. CV does not have the academic student achievement right! How can they provide the following? Please someone explain...

Fernandez has not provided SCROC, parents, students, community with the data that SCROC is not doing its job! He is simply looking at this from a financial perspective. We need a leader who knows education not politics! Simply follow the tests scores and graduation rate at Leuzinger and Hawthorne. That speaks volumes about the leadership within CV!

How predictable! The new board cancels their first meeting. There is no lack of quorum. The truth is Ramos had her baby and the incompetent vice president doesn't know how to run a board meeting, but yet she has enought sense to question SCROC's financials. She wouldn't know a financial statement if it hit her in the head. I heard Circus Vargas cancelled their stop in Lawndale because they didn't want to compete with CV's Board of Circus. ha, ha, ha!

Yeah, sounds like the new lady they hired to run business affairs. From what everyone says, she wouldn't know a financial statement either if it hit her in the face yet she's running the entire district's finances. Scary isn't it? She's probaby another one of the sup's puppets so it doesn't really matter if she knows her job or not.

It sounds like Fernandez wants to hijack the money that the state gives to SCROC.

Could you possibly be less vague? Is there something in particular that makes you think that SCROC students AREN'T receiving good vocational training there?
And I think most people would agree that you need to spend more effort on fixing up your own back yard before you start accusing a perfectly good vocational school of not meeting YOUR standards.

What a joke... Just try to get any info on CVUHSD budgets. This is yet one more example of Jose doing things that hurt the kids. SCROC is one of the only things that works. Good luck to Wiseburn....mybe they will care about kids and education.
