...wow...just wow....this lady probably just needed someone to acknowledge her feelings and frustrations of being confined due to her illness...it must feel hopeless to be in that situation.. ...a better trained police staff would have recognized this...

The old bat should be happy. Being tazed is probably the most action she has seen in bed in 40 years.

I'll send them to you right away. Some people, especially my fellow gym rats, think I'm too skinny for my big head. But I don't want to bulk up like them and then turn into a butterball if I stop working out and continue eating too much. Now THAT would be offensive.

She is 87 years old for God's sake!!! I pity the woman who is blind enough to give you any (action) as you call it. You are sick minded and cruel. Your parents must be disgusted by you; and terrified of becoming old with you as a son. That policeman should be fired for abusing the poor lady...

Give a cop a new toy and he'll want to use it on everybody. I read that there were several cops there at the time and they even had a little time to discuss what to do. WHY they chose such a serious action rather than taking a step back and TALKING to her is unbelievable. They could have even left the house. What's the worst that would happen? She didn't invite them in!
Yes, granny may have had a knife. But did granny slip outa bed and CHARGE YOU? The big bad cop who tasered her and all those who stood idly by should be ashamed of themselves.
"So honey, how was your shift?" "YOU-WHAT!" "NO sex for YOU tonight!!!!!
I hope every-one of these cops' wives gave him the same treatment.
Something is really wrong with a society that turns it's back on their elders. However, this IS one example where Karma works exceedingly well. Treat old-folks badly and you're likely to die alone in your-own feces in a smelly, dimly-lit room. Have fun with your Taser.

You operate under the assumption that the police actually give a #2 about the handicapped, elderly, and mentally ill.

We don't train cops to be therapists. I hope she's ok though. lol. She's probably mentally unstable. I'm thinking if you pull a weapon on a cop, the cop will protect him or herself. Sounds like he protected her from more harm.

If this was a 40 year old man confined to his bed, would you say the same when he pulls a weapon on cops?

Minimum education and IQ requirements for cops need to be raised. These sadistic idiots are too dangerous to carry a badge.

Old people don't want to leave their homes, and will do practically anything to stay there. However, how hard is it to control a lady in her 80's, who's laying down_her reflexes are so slow, they should of had plenty of time to grab her?And as far as throwing the knife, it probably wouldn't even reach the officer.

As the city's attorney defending against this baseless law suit I will simply argue that granny had gone into cardiac arrest, and the police officer's heroic actions saved her life via impromptu defibrillation.

John wrote: <quoted text> You're right- I was generalizing- Mexicans are not respectful... I guess that means the 15 who won the Medal of Honor during WWII were only faking being Mexican. But I think Jessica Alba is a respectable Mexican. And I once had crush on Lynda Carter...another Mexican. But don't tell anyone. Edward Furlong ain't bad. And lord knows Salma Hayek and Eva Longoria have my respect. And Anthony Quinn, he's okay. Luckily for them folks who generalize get fooled easily.
