<quoted text>washer you are replying to statements in reply to a statement I made; I wad simply thinking that since we are already required to purchase a version of insurance for our vehicles which have a finite value, its odd that we do not. As human beings we are priceless, if we were to be obligated to carry at least some form of insurance wouldn't that make more sense to have health insurance? Granted we are only required to carry insurance on our cars if we drive, but if we don't drive we don't need it. Its a choice; I get it. But; as I stated a moment ago we are more valuable than our cars, shouldn't it make more sense to protect ourselves?
I didn't say anything to you. I'm in favor of single payer socialized medicine.

Yeah and there is hillbilly hand fishing show. Just boggles the mind how Okies can be proud of shows that make them all look like stupid people.

Most Oklahoma are not interested nor proud of a catfish noodling show. In fact I didnot know it existed. But then I think most if not all reality show are crap! We use to going to the lake and enjoyed swimming, skiing, wave-runners and fishing but damn sure would not want to watch a TV show about it! So I don't think most people here, Oklahoma, fall into the catagory that some of you are trying to paint. I don't know what part of California Dusty lives but alot of the places I know about I really would not like living in California. Nice place to visit though. So I guess you might say each to their own!

You really are a defensive person Tamara. You take everything personal. You are quite right that there are many places in California that are disgusting and wrong. But California is about 20 times the size of Oklahoma. The population is at least 15 times the size of Oklahoma. California is going to have a vast array of types of people and situations. There are parts of California I wouldn't drive through in broad daylight if you payed me.

But your defense is not accurate. California gets reality shows like "Housewives of Orange County" in which rich women waste their time bickering over nothing while Oklahoma gets reality shows about noodling. You have to be able to see the difference in the image projected to the country. Rich housewives being spoiled brats implies one thing. And that's worthless. But it's a sign of affluence. Noodling implies hicks, hillbillies and broke people. you have to be able to understand the influence that has on the image of Oklahoma as a state.

In the survey of Stuff Okies Like, Noodling is right near the top and comes in a close second to Toby Keith.

It seems to me that these reality show take the worse of the worse no matter where they orginate out of. I would say that anyone that waste their time watching any of them needs to have their head checked. I would be willing to bet that 3/4 of the people here in Oklahoma don't even know what noodling is or someone that has ever done it. But I do know that it was done more back around 1920s. But kids back then did not have much to entertain themselves except to do the simple things outdoors. It would be interest for Van to tell us where exactly this noodling show is being filmed. I am not to sure that noodling is legal now. There are people I would like to kick their butts to the curb just they are to lazy to make something out of their selves. Sorry your memories here are so bad for you that you have take every chance you get to run us down. But even at that I think I would actually like you if I meant you in person. You are a very interesting person. But I also get the idea that would never happen once you found out I was from Oklahoma.

That's simply not true. My best friend is from Oklahoma this very day. And he's not sophisticated or highly educated. But he knows Oklahoma for what it is. A state about 50 years behind the times. Poverty ridden, uneducated and ignorant. Now that is how the politicians of Oklahoma want it. And until that state decides to make it different that is how it will be.

Even I have a hard time believing that. LOL but I do like Toby Keith's song "I'll never smoke weed with Willie Again". And I liked "I love this bar" also but not as well. LOL

If this is so then I have missed judged you. Yes there are education problems here in this state. But until things do change it is up to the parents to step up and fill in the gaps. I believe not only here in Oklahoma that there needs to be stricter parenting. Alot of kids now days are not respectfully of their parents, teachers and many adults. Until this turns around The values that once drove this country will be the down fall of this country. Yes I do admit there is a problem here but not everyone falls in the catagory you paint of Oklahomans.

<quoted text>Then why do people carry auto insurance if their auto/truck is paid for?
I will say our health insurance did alright by us when my husband was fighting stage 3 colon cancer. We had good insurance but we paid out our nose for it. I will also say not all health insurance policies are equal. A person really has to study what they are buying to know exactly what you have.
I dont understand a lot of things about insurance but I do know one thing, most insurance sales people are crooks just like the insurance corps they work for so you need to search out you insurer before you make a choice, if you can find a honest on (good luck) they will tell you the truth about your policy but most likely you will end up with a person equal to the devil himself, and they will tell you every lie you mind may like to hear.

Well Missy I would bet it is being made in eastern Oklahoma. I know no one around here is interested in noodling and could care less about it. I do know people in the 1920s did it for food and for fun as a sport. But it is not the favorite sport of people today.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Scorpio

You're in the mood to spend money on a favourite hobby or pastime today, so take care if you're supposed to making every penny count at the moment. The temptation to treat yourself to something that you'll undoubtedly enjoy will be too strong to resist, and the trouble is that you might not restrict yourself to just one item either. It looks like being an extravagant day!
