Who needs digital television in the future? The SISD Board of Trustees is all the entertainment we need - although granted it costs the SISD taxpayers more to amuse the rest of us.

How unfair to a promising 18 y.o. college student who will be exposed to the unethical and unprofessional tactics by the snake den at SISD. She will be used as a puppet and a pawn by these despicable back stabbers who have no moral or ethical compass. Then again, if she chooses to stay in the "scum city" she will learn how people in power operate at an early age. Bottom line, SISD had once again proven there are a bunch of idiots running the school system who do not have the ability to make a good decision. What can an 18 y.o with no experience in anything bring to a school board? What am I thinking, 66% of you people voted for a Senator with no experience to run our country. The clowns are truly running the circus. I am sure the "forward" thinkers will have a ridiculous reply to this question. I just can't wait to read it.

They're not putting an infant in the position, people. One of the problems with El Paso is that they believe experience is always first, not always the case. That's been one of the major reasons for so much corruption. Her ambition and drive will be great for SISD. Congrats, she will probably do more than Joe Sarabia was going to be able to do with the position. He didn't even want the position anyway.
great for her resume

its not that she is 18, its that she is a brilliant student that can open the eyes of the current board members and shake things up a little. Everyone is afraid of change. Good for you Miss Loya. Keep going. This should be front page material.-GREAT NEWS!!!

I guess she is very bright young lady and hopefully she won't run into any politics with the school board and I hope everybody respects her and give her alot of incouragement.

Please don't put her down because she can learn from all of you in the school board.

GOOD LUCK.

I think this is what the word 'experience' means because that's what she will learn. Good for her!
And finally a young, newly graduated girl can tell the old out-of-tune board members what will be beneficial for the schools. Its a different perspective.

Plus, she's only 2 years from graduating from college. She started college at 16.

I was thinking she would be young enough to remember how the students get screwed over by administrators misdeeds and incompetence.

What happens when this girl gets caught at a club under age or something like that. I mean, she is 18 years old, she is living the Young Adult life, what a tough job, meaning, she will need to be at her best everywhere she goes, with Facebook, myspace, and these internet blogs, what kind of dirt can we find or look forward to seeing.
