I do not want any type of radio program to be taken off of the air, liberal or conservative. The more programs the merrier. It is a false generalization, however, to assert that one side or the other dominates the airwaves. I can pull what feathers I want out of my chicken to play foul (fowl?) when I wish to defend my supposition.

Right now I can choose not to listen to---or listen to---either wings (chicken?)---conservative or liberal--- but if government eliminates or throws out one or the other wings---that would be the foulest of things to do, and definitely not fair or exemplary of our sacred Freedom of Speech.

I want be able to choose to listen to whatever wind bags and bags of wind I wish to listen to, regardless of how disturbing the discussion and dialogue (or monologue) are.

Reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine would not remove any right-wing hate monger, like Rush Limbaugh, from the public airwaves. It would, however, require broadcast licensees who use the public airwaves to present ALL SIDES of controversial issues so the public would be fully informed.

That's ridiculous. Government should not be interferring in private business like this. There are as many left-wing nuts as there are right. We, as Americans, have a right to listen or to change the station.

John Q., would left-wing hate mongers like Al Franken then have to raise their support to access the airwaves? Who's going to be the official timekeeper? Who's going to keep track of the subject matter? Who would say whose ox is gored and then require equal time? Would MSNBC then have to sponsor a talk that counters their attack dog Keith Olbermann? Would everything have to be fifty-fifty? Would politicians, when being interviewed, insist that equal time be provided to politicians not of their ilk?

Radio talk show hosts raise their own support commercially. All sides must to be able to do that in order to be "fair." Government monetary support should not be provided. The Left tried but had little public support so now they cry foul. Looks like left-wing hate mongers just fizzled out. The also need to get their own support.

It's interesting to read how Mr. Scheetz (Social Studies teacher at Hanks High School) is complaining about the "Fairness Doctrine" when his students chose "free speech" as the most important of the Bill of Rights. Well, maybe they chose that one because all he does is get on his pulpit and denigrate Democrats and all those who oppose his view of the world. Each class period my nephew has to sit in Scheetz classroom and listen to a barrage of attacks on president elect Barack Obama. Students don't ever disagree with him out of fear that he may have a flashback to his military days. This man and others like him violate the law everyday when they use their positions to falsely educate our youth. Where is the "fairness" and balanced educational objectives that's supposed to make our young citizens proud to be Americans if you have people like Scheetz abusing his position? Back off Scheetz!

You put all your hope on the trickle down effect and they stuck it to you good. Now nothing is made in America , What the hell do you want us to buy.
