["A man who tried to disarm a Las Cruces Police officer on Saturday afternoon was arrested and charged with a felony.

Jedediah M. Ostler, 25, who also goes by the name of Jed Austin, was charged with one count each of attempting to disarm a peace officer, and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, a Las Cruces Police officer spotted a man, later identified as Ostler, acting suspiciously near the 1500 block of Amador Avenue. The officer made contact with Ostler and, for a brief time, received some cooperation from the man.

Ostler became belligerent when the officer asked if he would consent to a search. Shortly thereafter, Ostler took off running and led the officer in a short foot pursuit.

The officer fired a Taser that briefly incapacitated Ostler but he refused commands and continued running from the officer. The officer caught up with Ostler and tackled him to the ground. While on the ground, Ostler struggled with the officer and tried grabbing the officer’s duty weapon from its holster.

The officer overpowered Ostler and was eventually able to place the suspect in handcuffs.

Ostler was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center."]

This is why you should also learn to run faster then the police or surrender immediately. Wonder why he took off?

Great story, JR! I can see why you posted it as he sounds quite a bit like you actually. Good show.
