They need to do something because because if you have ever been on Hawkins just south of the freeway it's like driving on the moon.

And don't you forget that...money talks. |

The Moon? |

google lunar rover and check out a video and that is what it is like to get off the freeway and drive down Hawkins.

You can't just get the best of both worlds. We should allow Western to close trowbridge that runs through the refinery to ease congestion on Airway that would be paid for by western! What more do we want as taxpayers?
Dream on! Western is not going to pay for that. The taxpayers are. Western is just going to pray on us and they will benefit the most.

We are benefiting, that is so ignorant. They are basically giving the City good land in exchange for closing up a street which would most likely be only sparesly used if Airway was extended. |
there are two streets that should be extended from I10 to the cesar chavez highway, lee trevino and airway blvd, it makes sence alot of sense, it's no different than when they built the north south freeway because that project also made alot of sense.
First of all, Mr Ignorant nobody gives nothing for free. The Lower Valley and Central neighborhoods in that area are against shutting down Trowbridge and Western is for closing Trowbridge. The project will cost 72 million. Yes Western will benefit the most becouse the residents (Property owners) are poor and old and some do'nt even speak english. Yes Wesern is praying on that too. Paul Don't buy off our next Mayor. |

So your arguement is that we should feel sorry for area residents because they are going to close a street but make way for a much better, easier access street? It makes no sense. In the end, they are going to benefit. Much less traffic will be running through their neighborhoods, making it ultimately better for them in the end. |
Look who is in the middle, Western. Do'nt tell me Western has no say in it. Listen to the tax payers(Property home owners) not the business. Traffic has been running through that area for years. The residents are use to it. Do'nt feel sorry for them. Western is not doing any favors unless there is an interst in there for them. Western wants that street. Later Western will ask thier houses too. |
Yes! Tear it down. Make way for new development in this city. That's the problem with El Paso. No one wants to change anything and try something new. Everything gets shot down. NO ONE speaks up just speaks out. What are they gonna complain about? The houses? We all know that area of town has to have some of the oldest ugliest houses out there. Let's make some needed changes to our El Paso streets and move forward. Like the people that live in this area are gonna say, "No I wanna keep my old ugly house and just stay here." Why do you think it's gonna cost so much money too. Those people have to be relocated somewhere else. Probably newer or better homes. But, like always the city never moves on the issues. EL Paso the always wannabe big city mentality.

On the contrary, I don't feel sorry for them. And just because the street has been there for years does not mean that it will not benefit residents in the end by extending Airway through private investment(Western). Both sides are going to benefit. And the only reason they want it closed is because it runs straight through the middle of the refinery and divides it. If they could close Trowbridge but extend Airway, they would benefit, but residents as well. |

all those houses on trowbridge are uggggly, they look like the little green houses from the monopoly games, square boxes and some have flat roofs, what are they track homes or something like that, our dog outside has a better looking house than those on throwbridge.
