Obama should mend relations in Mexico

A U.S.Border Patrol agent in Yuma, Arizona, says that since the triple fence was finished in October, there has been a 72 percent decline in illegal migrant apprehensions in the 120-mile swath of the US-Mexican border known as the Yuma sector. Eight hundred people used to be apprehended trying to cross the border here every day. Now, agents catch 50 people or fewer daily.

I'll give up the "pretty" border view any day for this type of success and national security.

The new fence, along with the increase in agents and high-tech surveillance equipment, have greatly reduced the number of illegal alien apprehensions on the AZ/Mex border. But, as Steve stated in his letter, they will find other ways into our Country. A few weeks ago an elaborate tunnel was uncovered in San Luis. This was no regular "pick and shovel" operation but was being constructed using state of the art mining equipment. Last week and illegal alien was killed when the ultra-light aircraft he was using to smuggle 140 pounds of MJ into the US crashed in a lettuce field south of town. As a taxpayer living in a border community, I love seeing the new fence and the hordes of border agents scurrying around the desert like ants.

It made me feel stupid, especially when I travelled overseas, but the fact of the matter is he is my President (only a month and change to go, thank god) and I defended the office (I did the same in the military), not the idiot-in-charge. So if I put up with 8 years of anti-intellectualism, and humiliation, I am sure you can too (at least this one is smarter). democratically elected ?. well prop 8 in Ca. was democratically voted in and the 'democrat' gay boohoos say that the peoples vote doesnt count in that election. So democratically elected means just that,'only' if the 'democrats' win the vote, otherwise it doesnt count. makes sense to me, not.

I guess you don't know how to differentiate between a state's Constitutional Proposition and a federal election - he was elected by both the popular vote and the Federal College, meaninng, the people or our country while California is a state (I wonder if Palin knew that one) and henceforth held their own ballot measure - two things totally unrelated. The fact of the matter is you are acting like a bratty kid who loses and does not want to accept defeat. Again, you lost... Get over it.
