Socorro sued for alleged harassment

People of Socorro, you better look at this. Once again, Lil Jesse, and his control of Council and the attorney, would not take the necessary action, prescribed by the EEOC in these types of cases, against Sgt. Orta. As a result the taxpayers will be paying out on a lawsuit. Lil Jesse took action against his uncle and demanded a recall but took no action against his boy Orta. This is another example of why all voters should vote "no" against all of the proposals and their hidden agendas this coming Saturday.

What happened to the investigation/complaint that was made to the City Manager Manny Soto of the alleged sexual harrassment by Trini Lopez, against a female employee from the recreational/community center? The allegation was that Trini Lopez was gawking at her chest and making off the wall comments towards her. I understood it was reported to Manny Soto. What action was taken? It was my understanding that several complaints were made to Gloria Rodriguez and Willie "boy" Madrid by the employees at the Community Center about Trini Lopez. Maybe it's time for another recall with outside lawyers involvement. All this needs to be brought out.

Why is it that nobody from outside has done something about all the wrongs that have been reported regarding the City of Socorro? All we hear is we will see and we have yet to see accountability. This is really getting ridiculous!

Why am I not surprised. Refugio Orta is a corrupt pig. Lets see how little Jesse and Soto covers this one.

well as a socorro resident, i am embarrased to say that these are the people making decisions for our community. Everyone knows what a joke lil jessie is. with his frivolous complaints about officers assaulting him, he cant even control his own police staff. council meeting have become the monthly circus, maybe we should sell tickets. thick as thieves are the whole lot. from the city manager, trini, Sgt. orta, the whole city council and everyone else who are supposed to make socorro a better place. its really pathetic. they all abuse their power. As far as the harrasment is concerned, thats what happens when a over paid community college peace officer loop-holes his way into a supervisors position. we need to get some new blood or maybe we should have been annexed into th city el paso. never have i felt so ashamed to be a citizen of socorro. Lets get rid of the whole bunch.

This sounds like the consultant that was with the Soccoro Police Department until he got FIRED a couple of weeks ago for being incompetent and not knowing the first thing about Polic matters. It sounds like he is still pissed at lil Jesse for getting rid of him.

A few spelling errors however, you got your point across. Jesse did get rid of the consultant, but for many reasons, incompetent was just one of them. Now lets see how the consultant gets his revenge at the both of them, as arrogant as this guy is, he will try his best. This guy wanted to be the next Chief of Police so bad. Just happens the guy lacked all the qualifications and definitely Leadership skills needed to be the Chief. I guess he thought his college degree was good enough and make up for the lack of Police experience. Should be interesting. Good luck to the both of you, we will see.

This sounds so much like Pateeenoo(aka counsultant), who was fired/let go/booted/not asked to come back/get your stuff and leave from the Chiefs Office. How does it feel to get the boot as you were trying so hard to do to so many.

Puteeno got what was coming to him and to all others who join the gang of 4 sooner or later they will turn on you, just ask chief avalos you either do what they want or you are history and they don't care about the resulting lawsuits --it's not their money but guess what --it's our money and now because of the misinformation we can no longer recall any member of city council. god help us

This has always been the past practice with the Socorro City Council.

Pateeno: Patino is gone but remember he takes a wealth of information with him from those who gave him power. Soccer Mom Jessie gave him orders and hopefully it was done via e-mail so the proof is there. Maybe another Public Corruption case can began like he used his power to abuse Mr. Duran and so many others.

Orta never met the qualification to be sergeant. Soccer Mom Jessie saw his dog got promoted, even had him as Acting Chief while he was being complained on for Sexual Harassment. Orta’s career is story book. Orta gets his basic license as a Peace Officer, joins the Socorro Police Department, goes out on 2 years on workman’s comp, comes back as an acting Sgt., then made Sergeant and is allowed to be in charge of the PD. You talk about Patino, at least he was Law Enforcement. Soccer Mom Jessie does whatever it takes to protect his boy, even gets his wife on the Civil Service. Orta is crooked and dirty as they come. Is there any truth to the rumor that the victim of the harassment was not only harassed by Orta, but by Lil Jesse and Councilman Willie Madrid? Supposively the incident took place at some night club. Is there any truth to this? Since you seem to Know The Truth, can you fill us in?

Sgt orta was on workmens comp but when it came time for him to come back the dr's order would have put him out of work because the date was more than was allowed so what does our wonderful sgt do--he changes the date on the dr's order, this can be verified. Everyone who is a part of this council is so corrupt and now we are stuck with themfor another year.

You stated when he saw all the violations of the law, Your so wrong, he wasn't police officer certified and couldn't even pass the test to be a police officer, so what does he really know about the law, apparently not too much and his qualifications does matter, if your going to LEAD a police department you need more than a mere college degree and you stated that there are two police officers within the department that are ready to be the Chief, again wrong. The one in charge now is one of his cronies which was hired by Pateno and is his puppet, I know you must be really kidding with that statement.

The guy in charge of the Police Department now is a mirro copy of Pateno (aka FIRED consultant) which is a cronie Pateno personally brought in. Hopefully Socorro Police Department will one day hire a Lieutenant that will make and use common sense in making decisions. I can only hope that Socorro Mom Jessie interfers when it comes to this decision.
