They could save fuel costs if they don't have to stop at every railroad crossing, why can't they just follow the law like everyone else and stop when the light is flashing? Are good bus drivers that hard to find? They waste fuel for all of us that have to stop behind them, and they stop for tracks that haven't been used for 30 years.

And if the ONE time the bus doesn't stop at that railroad and something happens and the train/trolley doesn't stop and kills or injures 84 students on board... you're gonna feel pretty stupid for saying that. Think about this kids you dip, not you having to take 5 more seconds out of your day. If you see a bus, go around it!

Should they stop for tracks that haven't been used for 30 years and have no crossing rails? Are you drivers thinking that just maybe one time, a train will appear on that track out of time and ramble towards those kids? I take it that you don't know any of the recent studies? "buses stopping at railroad crossings are causing accidents" A lot of multi-vehicle rear end accidents. Most of the previous accidents involving a bus and train were the result of poor driver. Most stopping but going too close to the track and etc...I hope your not one of the poor judgement drivers out there.

We should stop all FORCED busing nationwide; that would cut fuel use by 30% at least.

In my county they could get rid of at least 30% of the buses and 50% of the fuel costs if they would go back to NEIGHBORHOOD schools and stop busing the ghetto thugs into the decent areas of the county
