pg&e outrageous bills!

I just moved into a 2200 sq ft house in El Dorado Hills on the other side of E.D.H. Blvd from Serrano and I need to buy a dryer, can anyone tell me if it would be cheaper each month(PG&E) to get a gas or electric unit in 95762?

I would think a gas dryer. I am actually thinking of switching. Electric dryers are just so expensive to run. Of course, if gas prices go up again, then who knows. For now, I would say a gas dryer

Well you will love this - ever since they found out that I have an autoimmune disease they now want a deposit so that in case I die they won't be stuck with a bill.

I think it's illegal to discriminate like that. Call the energy commission, that's totally ridiculous!

Our December bill was over $1000.00, I hear all these commercials about 68 / 74. We keep our house at 63 in the winter and 84 in the summer and still have outrageous bills. We live in Tracy in a 5 year old house, with double pane windows and good insultation. My husband has purchased a meter to see if there is anything causing the problem, we have hired electrian to see if something is wrong. Everything comes back with out any concerns, our neighbors have the exact same house, same number of people and run their air conditioning all summer long - even at night and their bills max at $400.00. PGE tells us that the meter is fine and it is just our usage. It is really ridiculous, they won't even send someone out to check and see where we have a problem (if it is our problem).

We got solar and our bill is 40-60 a month. It will pay it self off in 6 years. The trick is to get a system to keep you out of the top three tier's. It may not be for everyone and there are scams out there but, I got lucky and research research research.

Which Solar Company did you go with? I'm looking to make a change too. Maybe to leased Solar from SunRun. We just got a letter amount Smart Meter installations in El Dorado Hills. We're about to get screwed again. Do a search of the Fresno Bee about PG&E and check out what's going on there. BIG TROUBLE!

We used REC Solar. Best ones out there (in my book), watch out for other people claiming they do solar! Check with www.gosolarcalifornia.org/ One company who said they installed thousands of sytems. Thanks god we look, they did a total of 3 and 2 of those were cancelled. Watch the sales men, some are crooks. It did take a while to get through the HOA but, we kept working it.

I was very shocking about higher fees more than Electric!
I was living Los Angeles,CA. Low price Los Angeles Electric because of NO FEES but only city tax. That is all.
PG&G is weird because of HIGH FEES more than Electric! Shame on PG&E

Yes something is going on.I herd in chico when they put the new merers in they screwed people out of hundreds.It was on the news then people were quickly refunded and blamed it on bad record keeping and not the new meters.Funny when something hits the news they go out of there way to fix it?But any way this summer our bill went from 80 dallars up to 400.The only thing that runs here is tv fans and a swamp.The bill here has never gone over 100 dallars since I lived here for more than 20 years.The bill hiked up when we filled the swimming pool normaly that cost 100 dallars.but for 3 months since the bill has been 4 times what it normaly is and nothing has changed in the way we conserve electricity.On this months bill it went down to almost normal but they added some stupid 55 dallar transfer fee or something but the electricity used was 67 dallars.

I'd say there is something wrong. I run the same temps at winter and summer, with the occasional drop the ac 1 degree just to cool down a bit, a gas dryer, swimming pool, hot tub, 1660 sq. ft, 3 people off and on at home, & 3 people home all day, 5 tv's, air compressor, and all electric items to watch movies....the bill was usually 250-350.
The highest bill I had was approx 650 in a month, because a/c broke during summer, purchased 3 small ac home depot units and ran them too much (for 3 rooms only of course)
