the bay n the rest of nor cal is better for many reasons
1. real people. so cal is known for it's fake and plasticyness. your locals are either rich n snobby or crazy n homeless "pretentious" as some would say
2. it's so much more beautiful up here
- sf's architecture n culure(we also have our share of crazy bums)
-the read wood forrest, beatiful moutans and lakes, amazing beaches n bays
3. culture, down there u reward ignorence n greed. ur importance is measure by ur fame or wealth. ur soy laté bull shit.
it's not everyone but the vast majority have a shallow ignorent view on life
we on the other hand have SF a beautiful historic city
sanjose(my home town) the capital of the silican valley
breath taking landscapes
awesome culure
n hella! yes we do say it all the time usually w out realizing it... but I embrace it.
it better than "OMG" or "that's hot."

So Cal is way better. America's finest city happens to be San Diego. Nor Cal is colder and is all forest. We have the famous people, better beaches, etc. Palm Trees look a lot nicer than oak trees. Nor Cal should be a different state because people come to california to live in SD and LA,Those happen to be the two lagest cities in Cali.

I love California. Norcal and Socal, they each offer different things, and they both suck just as equally.

First of all, do not judge southern California based on Los Angeles, Orange County, Malibu, etc. Those people north of San Diego are nothing but assholes and focused on careers, getting ahead, and basing their self worth and worth of others solely off of how much money they make or how sexy they are. San Diego may just be the chillest place I have ever lived in my life. I am from a small town an hour north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and have traveled all over. Ocean Beach in San Diego is full of hippies and it's a very relaxed atmosphere full of mom and pop stores and restaurants. The only corporate infringement in the entire community is Starbucks and the people TRIED to keep it out of there. NorCal does have some beautiful architecture, the Redwoods, etc., but I love the Mediterranean weather in San Diego, the happy, chill people who show nothing but love and acceptance (unless you're in La Jolla or Coronado where their monthly house payments are more than most people make in six months). Really I just think people need to approach this topic with an open mind and not make a judgment unless they've actually BEEN to the areas that they're hating on. California is my favorite state in the entire US. It's a very relaxed, liberal, free-thinking state. There are bad places and shady people everywhere...in both northern and southern Cali. To each his own, but I prefer sunny days by the beach surrounded by palm trees, bonfires, dogs, hiking in the mountains and camping in the desert, and bronzed and beautiful beach bums and hippies...with lots of Mexican food and reggae, jazz, and blues. Plus a lot of the restaurans are expanding their talents and including top-of-the-line chefs and cuisines...anything from true Californian, ocean fare, Italian, French, market-fresh, Persian, Indian, desserts, etc. plus wine bars, tequilas and mezcals, not to mention San Diego is like the capital of craft breweries. Los Angeles is like a nightmare, in its people, jobs, housing, transportation, hoodlums, crime, stuck-up attitude, and just in general a lame place to be. NorCal is full of super loud-mouthed people with strong opinions of things for no reason. I have met several chill as hell hippies and love them, but there are MANY northern Caliornians I can hardly stand based on their self-righteousness. Anyways, a lot of these arguments have been invalid and pointless and people get mad at them for no reason. If you like one part better than the other, then just stay there and make everyone's lives better by avoiding the drama.

Lived in norcal for 18 years came to Sdsu for school. I've been tryingg to get along with people here in so cal but there too fake or too stuck up. I never once talked trashed about so cal but people here talk shit about norcal all the time, that tells me what type of people are in SD. People in norcal have class and respect something so cal residents lack.

I've lived in both areas and I liked both. Can't believe people actually debate this and as soon as I finish this comment I'm going to slap myself for even wasting the time to type this. Get over yourselves, we live in what's probably the best state in the US.

Oh and I will give the "cooler people" nod to Norcal, but it's very tough to generalize when there's this many ppl in an area, and each person only meets about .0001 percent of them in their lives.

Also the Bay Area is more densely populated than the LA CSA hopefully you know what that means. And again NorCal has a way higher population density than SoCal and San Diego is like that other popular city in Southern California hahaha no one cares about San Diego and fake losers that bandwagon love LA because they are fake AGAIN. Go to LA and are like OMG no the beaches in NorCal are way more beautiful we have Lake Tahoe and Yosemite and Redwoods and marijuana and everything is better we have more natural beauty than Southern California Palm Trees are ugly and it's hot down their here in Riverside it gets 130 degrees ! Who wants that?

"All the people there are fake." That's all I ever hear from residents of NorCal in reference to those of us in SoCal. Will you guys wake up and realize that's not at all a valid point, have any of you ever been to San Diego? We're cerebral people down here, it's you pretentious morons in San Francisco, because let's face it the rest of NorCal is farmland and horseshit, that protest the smallest issue in the street, or turn your noses up to any issue that isn't "metropolitan" enough to fit your standards. Just because we're happy and have sunshine doesn't mean we're fake--we just tan well, and I love San Francisco, it's a fantastic city with beautiful architecture and vibrant culture, but you guys aren't the center of the universe, or California for that matter.
LA people have always envied Nor Cal. Nor Cal has mor educated people. LA has fake, plastic, superficial, simple minded, uneducated and super materialistic people. Oh, and a fake, ditsy blonde on every corner that can't spell the name of the town she lives in. And a bunch of loser guys, with fake tans on steroids. Idiots, pick up a book! Read! Its a big world outside of your smog bubble. Hollywood is shite! You can have hollywood and all the disease riddin tramps and illegal immigrants. Nor Cal will keep the water. Nor Cal is way more valuable than So Cal. Nor Cal does not need So Cal. But So Cal needs Nor Cal. And Orange County people are pieces of racist Sh#t! A bunch of fake tits and fake muscles. Morons!

This is just about the funniest thing I've ever seen in print. "We're cerebral people..." It is to laugh.

The only thing Southern California worships is beauty. No, that's wrong. Height. It's tallness, nothing but basketball courts and Hollywood height like John Wayne. It doesn't matter how ugly or funny-looking the person is (tall women south of Fresno talk more garbage than you've ever heard anywhere), the taller he/she is, the more domineering. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

I went to community college down here, and I got a glimpse of some of these "tall one's" homework. Doesn't matter how illiterate they are, they're passed anyway. Now, we all know cheerleaders help the school jock pass his classes to keep him on the team and rah Hoosiers, but you're supposed to try. Judging by the illiteracy of Southern California tallness, there not only never was a "try" to begin with, they really aren't supposed to be in college. Yet, anyway.

"We just tan well..." In studios.

"I love San Francisco..." A beautiful city, and I love the weather there. I like fog. But The City isn't typical of Northern California, so that types you that much more.

Go tan your brain.
