As tragic a case as this has more issues revolving around it than just the "failure" of the parole dept and/or its agents to make sure someone is reported or not for parole violation.
Some of these pedophiles and sexual predators are "Professionals" at what they do. Educated socio-paths are in many cases smarter than the judges and prosecutors that send them to prison.
These "pro's" know how to manipulate the systems and get away with things short-sighted, hastily written legislation and mandates fail to address in the first place. Why?
Because no one truly understands a sick, twisted mind.
Anyone here have all the answers? Not unless it's a forum full of socio-paths, which in some cases I'm inclined to believe is true. However, my point is that Yes, I believe this gal and her two kids do need help from the state that failed to keep this %#!$%* locked up.$19M worth of help I'm not so sure.
If trauma and hazard are to be used as the litmus test for payouts by the state or feds, then every COMBAT soldier that returns from any war should be handed at LEAST $1M cold hard cash upon getting home as an example.
Jaycee and her kids should have Lifetime Medical and enough to get resettled and acclimated to society again, I agree with that.
I don't begrudge her having been through a terrible thing, but I think the payoff is a bit much...as only attorneys could swindle out of the deal. Remember, they get 25-33% of the pay off so $5-6Milion in this deal.
If the lawyers in this case turn their portion of the proceeds back to the State or give it to charitable organizations, hey, who's to talk, but will they??? I think not! After all it wasn't the lawyer that was imprisoned in a stinky shed/hole for 18 years.
Blessings be,
