Hey Carlos, If you don't like the way they do it why don't you apply so you can do it your way. P.S. Don't call them when someone breaks in your house because they may not have their seat belt on.... Get a life.

I have to agree with the op. Since it is now law to wear one and they are the ones enforcing said law, then they should be the ones setting an example. Not playing the game of do as I say, not as I do.

The point i,m trying to make is. If its NOT legal for me to drive without a seatbelt. the fine should at least triple for any law enforcement person that breaks it. Let the judicial branch set a proper example for a change.

Triple the fine? THAT is not playing fair.
El Dorado Police policy does allow for seat belts to be removed prior to arriving at a call. That is for the quick movement of an Officer...for his safety, and to quickly save your behind. Maybe that is what you saw. If not, contact a supervisor. Cell phones do not apply to those over 18...yet.

If he got a ticket for no seat belt he should be mad. They eased that law in,first not a primary offense and a $25 dollar fine. That didn't really pay much so "hey lets make no seat belt a primary offense and charge $125" that pays much better. So here you are driving down the road minding your own buisness and all of the sudden a highway man chases you down and through threats and intimidation he takes money from you.

Do you people have nothing better to do than go around town and try to find something wrong with the Police? This town is so funny, I for one support them even if they dont wear their seatbelt. Hell they do more for us than what you think. Dont believe that, next time something happens to you and you need them to get out and help you in a hurry you just have to wait for them to come to a complete stop, put the car in park, radio in, turn the car off, take the seat belt off and then get out to help your ass. Who gives a flying shit if they wear a seatbelt? GET A LIFE! Find some other poor public servant to pick on.

I think everyone should stop complaining about the police. They go out everyday and put their lives on the line for all of us and for you to complain is just childish. In my opinion for what money they make for wat they do they should be able to wear one if they want and if the don't what do you care. Get a life and stop worrying about others.

I think that the great majority of our police do the right thing. I have been around here a long time. Our police force now is very qualified, hard working and professional and is appreciated by those citizens who are law abiding. No, I am not an officer nor married to one. Just an observation from one who has been in a position to form an opinion.

We do have a great PD especially for the size town we are. But they need to stay off the cell phones when patrolling. First, it is dangerous and second, they aren't looking around if they are talking on the cell and driving.

Go ahead and lie and say you haven't ever done it because everybody has done it a few times. Cop or no cop, just because somebody is a cop does that mean they cant drive and talk on the cell phone? If thats the case than it should be for everbody not just for the cops.... For you dumbasses out there in computer world that bitch about the police. I dont have a problem with the police, they put their lives on the line everyday just to protect you. Without them who do you have?! Stop the damn bitching and be thankful that you got men and women in the city that is doing the job and put their live on the line.... Its not an easy job, if you really believe that, than you need to apply and we will see how long you last.

But when I'm driving I'm not also supposed to be looking for people who are breaking the law. So I'm only doing two things the police are doing or should be doing three.
