midnight red lights in a triangle appeared in the sky over El Cajon. I have read this has happened before. I watched it for over 15 minutes and then it was gone. Anyone have a clue what it was?

Three of us saw them too - they eventually split form their trangle formation and vanished. At first we thought they were helicoptors, but they were virtually silent. I got some pictures - still can't tell what they were

well last night me and 6 other friends went outside 3 minutes after the new years ball drop. After that i pointed out the three red lights in the sky in the form of a triangle, i live in paradise hills so it was in the direction south southeast after about 15-20 minute of watching, each light started to fade away after the light one 2 helicopters started to circleing that area. so your not alone in this.

A bunch of us in La Mesa saw these and my guess is that they were Chinese Lanterns.

First of all, Katay, you need to learn how to spell. "Rode flairs"? Really? How about "road flares". It's difficult to take people like you seriously when you just appear to be a moron who can't spell simple four and five letter words.

Now, I Googled "three red lights in the sky" and am finding out about all of these new year's sightings. I saw this same phenomenon in 1986, I was talking about it with my husband last night and decided to look it up today. It was the exact same 'three lights on a triangle formation'. Weird.

Also, I doubt the guy in the above article link was around in 1986 in Florida. Apparently people from all around the world have had the same sighting, many on this past New Year's Eve, but also many other times over the years.

This siting happened around 1215am at night. I let my dog outside to relieve himeself, He got scared, there was a loud crash noise, I was thinking it was the refinery or the train near by. My dog was looking up, I noticed what he was looking at, it was 6-7 red lights in a vee shape formation hoving over the tree tops. This was no plane, helicopter, but I could see the stars between these lights. One red light mn=oved away for a split sec and returned back to the formation. These lights then started to move slowly east. I know these are not plane flares of even a kite with LED lights because there was no wind to blow a kite over the houses and the tree. What I saw was exactly what I seen on Utube about the redlights. I am glad I ma not the only one out there that experienced this.

My girlfriend and I witnessed at least 7 of them on August 13th 2011 at 10:35pm, in west Des Moines Iowa. We were on our balcony facing south and the objects traveled from north to south. We caught the last seven or so and there were other people in our complex that were on the ground watching too! We over heard them saying they were trying to spot the meteor shower however these objects were traveling to slow to be a meteor, had no tail behind them and were too low to the ground. They were also silent so rules out a jet, plane or helicopter. I got video footage with my kodak digital camera however it does not do justice for what we saw with our eyes. I have been searching the web for similar images/videos and have found exactly what we had seen. This is very strange and we the people have the right to know what is going on. I would like to get more information from anyone who is willing to talk about what they have seen, we should not have to stay silent because people may think we are crazy or shrug it off to be something more "realistic"! I have been star gazing since I can remember and I have never seen anything like this before. Please let us finally get the truth out there so we can embrace what is to come. I look forward to responses from my post, I know there are numerous people out there that have witnesses similar things. We just need to band together and demand our government to be honest with "WE THE PEOPLE" once and for all.....Good God Speed!!! -Brett

The red lights were seen in San Jose, CA as well. They appear to be at satellite height and moved slowly. They are NOT fireworks. Most of us can tell the difference. I was wondering if they were satellites filming new year's eve events?
