Doctors are asking patients to sign contracts about what drug stores you use and they drug test and count pills. I can understand some of this because in the past people were going from one doctor to another getting pills. They call that doctor shopping. But how about patient rights like how long you sit in a waiting room or how the staff treats you? I know for a fact that some people have been fired for false charges and they didn't even get the chance to defend thenselves. I've been told that a staff person at one doctor's office is real close to being sued for false charges. This person is in piedmont but I go to doctor in J'ville and it's going on there too. Doctors need to be careful with patients and staff.

I agree, I don't understand all of this but true, Doctors have to be careful, as always the patients that try to do right are always the ones that have to suffer.

I just posted 5 minutes ago, where did it go???

Tell me more about what is going on in Piedmont, I went to my regular doctor (Joy Gavino)to get refills on my meds this morning. The lady told me according to lab tests I was not taking my meds, which I know is a lie. When the doctor came in, I ask her about it, she beat around the bush and wouldn't feel my meds. I ask what she was accusing me of, she would not give me a straight answer. I told her I wanted a copy of lab reports and anything related to it. The lady in the office gave me the paper work except for the one going to the insurance company. I called back to ask for the paper I signed, she said I gave it to you, I told her that was not the paper I signed. She said, oh, that's just the paper we bill the insurance, I told her to make me a copy and I would come and pick it up. I thought they had copied my sigature from that paper to the paper hide in the stack releasing her as my doctor. The problem was I only signed one paper and the one where she was releasing me as a patient was a different signature and I haven't figured out how they got it. There is something fishy here????

Looks like I talking to myself on this one!!

Lots of jobs require a background check. Pilots, teachers, gov't jobs... teachers go through an FBI background check. Just think about what someone in a doctor's office could do. They can call drug stores and if a person doesn't use insurance to pay for medication there's no way the doctor would ever know. They have prescription pads and samples. A staff person could make a lot of money. I don't understand why a doctor wouldn't take more precautions. I think doctors want to have some insulation from patients but I'd be afraid I'd go to work one day and the DEA would be there and all those years of hard work and money would be gone.

So true, I'm just glad I'm through with public work, I was told that a nurse couldn't cancel a prescription that the doctor had to do it, according to the drug store. The nurse at Nelder's office told me if you don't do what I say I can cancel your meds, Nelder never even mentioned it when I told her what was going on with the other doctor they sent me to. When I went to the drug store, the meds that were not a controlled substance had been cancelled but not the controlled substance. I tried to talk to Nelder but I was told by her nurse that she made all the decisions there. I agree doctors need to be careful but they need to stay on top of the folks they employ and make sure they do their job right, if not get rid of them.

I agree. If I'd spent that many years in college and that much money, you can bet I'd have everyone in the office investigated. By the way, doctors stopped hiring nurses a long time ago - too much money. A nurse probably didn't cancel your prescription.

All I know she was fairly tall and blonde she did blood work, weighed you and ask all kind of questions and before you answered one she would cut you off, someone said her name was Terry, I don't know, never had a chance to find out. All I remember she was a smart aleck. Don't know what her problem was but she shouldn't take it out on the patients. It really doesn't matter, I don't have to put up with her sarcastic mouth anymore. I'm going to bed. Nite all.

This is what someone posted in the other forum so I take it was the same person........
Dr. Nelder in Peidmont has turned over too much patient care to "Terry" her office manager. It seems that she is the one making decisions about patient care. Although Dr. Nelder may tell you one thing it is "Terry" that makes the final decision She can and will cancell your refills on your prescriptions without notifying you. She will make appointments for XRAYS or MRIs without telling you and then accuse you of non compliance using that as an excuse for cancelling your refills. Anything you say to her will be taken out of context and then a lot added to it before it is written on your chart. |

Drug testing without special circumstances violates the 6th amendment to the Constitution - that being self-incrinination and more. You're going to see this in the courtroom eventually.

I'm so used to doing urine and blood samples, I just thought the docs were looking out for me. It never crossed my mind they may have had a hidden agenda. If I had known this was the case I would have done the sample thingy shortly after taking the meds I took. I always took my meds early in the morning, I drink my coffee and a snack then later breakfast and drink a lot of water. Since I had a doctor's appointment later in the afternoon, I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and do the sample thingy and doc visit all in one trip, that way since the hospital and doc office were right across from each other, I would save myself an extra drive. There was about a span of 7 hours from the time I took meds and samples. Oh well, doesn't matter anymore.

Most meds will still show up for about 3 days. What kind of drugs are you talking about?
Only had 2, lorazepam for nerves and hydrocodone for back pain
I was taken ultracet but the doc didn't want me to have that but gave me hydrocodone
Oh yeah, those drugs would still show up for at least 3 days. The lorazepam will stay in the body longer. Did you watch them do the drug test?
Look it up on your computer. Look up biological half-life of either of those drugs. |

All I know was an urine and blood sample done at jville hospital, paperwork took more time than the samples, I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, I've read a lot about different drugs, why I am so careful how I took it, I will look at lab paperwork from doc again and see if I can understand it.

Is that when you got fired from a doctor? Did they say you weren't taking your meds? I'm not sure I understand. What doctor was it? I'm being nosey. You don't have to say anything.
I have nothing to hide, according to Doc Gavino urine test results were negative for meds she gave me, actually I have been taken lorazepam since 1994 one in the morning and one at night, I've been looking at web pages about testing for about 2 hours now, can't figure a negative result
