If they refuse to take a pay cut, vote the bums out of office! They clearly don't represent the will of the people. Drop the fat cats like a bad habbit.

People in Bakersfield and Inglewood need to remeber these names the next time they are at the polls. 5% is better than nothing to help us all out, and their greediness is a reflection of how much they don't care or can't relate to what this reduction could do to help out.

Did the Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, asked his senators to take a pay cut as a role models? Why should this senator be any different? This makes me wonder? Hopefully Senator Wright will fight for my pay check the same way he is fighting for his pay check. After all he is taking home tax payers dollars.

We Democrats had not much of a choice for our State Senator and it remains unfortunate that Sen. Wright is so very wrong.

Democrats are not ashamed about raising taxes to spend for the things we all need, but for Rod to be the only Democrat to refuse the pay cut imposed on so many State workers is disgusting!

This is not the time to continue to be the oddball when we are all suffering.

Had Mr. Wright not won the election he would have been looking for more work at this time.

He needs to show his gratitude and understanding for people electing him to his $116,000 a year job by just a 5% sacrifice.

Just think of all his constituents from Inglewood all the way down to the harbor who have lost their jobs since he was elected.

Just consider all of his constituents who work for agencies that have demanded a 5% pay cut and furlough days.

Rod Wright is an example of what is wrong in Sacramento and those of you who voted for him should be ashamed. Thankfully, I didn't have to vote for Rod and I certainly didn't vote for the Republican.

This is why I did not vote for Mr. Rodrick Wright. His personal pocketbook before the needs of the people he represents sends a strong message. Next time I will campaign very hard to remove you from getting a second term.

How can any politician possibly be as "out of touch" and greedy as Rod Wright? Many of his constituents are losing their jobs, constituent families are suffering immeasurable hardship, and Rod Wright refuses to help out or feel a teeny tiny bit of their pain by taking a measly 5% pay cut.

Does it really make you wonder where his true interests lie? Self-enrichment, self-empowerment, self-aggrandizement - or service to the community. Mr. Wright's actions speak much louder than his words - and it certainly looks like he couldn't care less about his constituents. Rod Wright deserves to have a size 12 1/2 Wide throwed up-side his head!

He does not comment on his personal business??? The money you are paid by taxpayers is certainly not personal business. Independant streak or not, he should have taken the cut. Hopefully the people of Inglewood remember next time they vote for this office.

Regardless of Rod Wright's poor-boy need for the 5% pay, nothing is sleazier than Karen Bass and the State Assembly. I haven't read that any of the elected Assembly or staff have agreed to a pay reduction. While we watch state workers taking a 10% pay cut (with 5% more reduction possible), Bass and her staff get full pay while watching state workers struggle with their cuts. She even tried to give her staff raises until she was found out and had to pull back the increases.

The people in Inglewood don't care....the only thing they cared about was the color of the politician running for the seat, and thats what they voted for. And that's exactly what they got. They won't vote him out, it isn't something they will put an interest in as a whole. Just be black and get elected!

As former resident Sen. Roderick Wright thumbs his nose at CA citizens. He is typical politician that takes, takes, and takes. Corruption among politicians is typical. He should be run out of town. Recalled. Fired.

SSen. Wright should be ousted - not because of the amount of money - but because his statements and attitude clearly show that he isn't intelligent enough to be trusted with a leadership position in the State of California. Here's a news flash: If you want to have your earnings be a private matter, then get your snout out of the public tough and don't take the job of State Senator.

What audacity of our elected official to consider that his salary is "personal". He chose to be a political leader with a salary paid for by the taxpayers. His salary and my CA state taxes that help fund it are ABSOLUTELY my business.

I want him recalled.

Despite all the outrage nothing will change. Even if Goldstien, or whatever his felonious name is, gets these rats to take a 5% pay cut they will all more than make up for it in other graft.

Until the people march on the streets daily burning effigies of these rats day after day these rats up in Sacramento will just continue to laugh at all of us powerless peons.

As it is there are WAY to many politicians being paid in California. Don't want a pay cut then.. bye-bye!!!! I think if we get rid of 75% of the politicians in Sacramento maybe we could afford to have teachers to teach our children!! Obviously they have not been doing anything with the state of California since it is broke!!! Greedy!!!!!!!

The other 98% are the one's people need to watch. They take a pay cut so you suckers will think they have compassion. Everything a politician do, is for their own good, not for you or me.
Every single one of them should be recalled.

Sen. Ashburn has said that he hasn't been told whether the 5% will go to the general fund or to the Senate's operating budget.

"I will not turn over more money for the majority party," he said, when they (the Democrats) "refuse to cut spending to balance the state general fund."

Wright is one of Maxine Waters jack asses. All Rod wants is a free lunch and will do whatever a lobbyist will pay. We have some of the dumbest representatives in Sacramento from LA and the South Bay/

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Virgo

Someone is easily angered today, and you'll want to tiptoe around them at every opportunity. They might be on the defensive and imagine that you're getting at them all the time, or they could be quick to point the finger of blame straight at you. It won't be an easy day, but try not to get swept up in the emotional dramas that are swirling around you. They'll only exhaust you.
