Soldier from U.P. killed in Iraq

DETROIT -- A 22-year-old from Michigan's Upper Peninsula was among three soldiers killed by an explosion in Iraq over the weekend, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Joseph, was a wonderful and enthusiastic person. Always wanted to help, always enjoyed going out of his way to excede in life. Joe you will be missed, we send all our sympathy to his wife, and family. Rest In peace, Joseph P. Micks.

Joey,

You are missed more each day. It is hard to believe its been more than two years.

Ramona and Andy you are in my thoughts and prayers, I know this is so difficult to deal with even now.

I pray all will bring honor to Joey's memory and pray for healing and peace.
