Do you really think that corp executives work hard enough to make 6 figures.(different line of work but - athletes don't work hard enough for that kind of money either.) We need to pay the people who work hard what they are worth. In turn, they will spend more and help the bottom lines. In corporations around the globe execs are still getting their bonus while "average" associates are not getting annual raises. If Companies can't afford employees, maybe they should look at "the fat" and cut expenses there. I don't think everyone should have the same thing - if you work hard, you deserve more, period. BTW, I voted for McCain. Yes, I believe they are worth 6 figure incomes. They are the heads of corporations. If you think people should be paid for what they are worth, there are some that don't deserve minimum wage and get paid $28 hr - some auto workers. I am not getting a raise this year. I am also not in charge.

Auto makers deserve a higher wage,(as long as they are doing their jobs well) they are putting together potentially dangerous weapons - for lack of a better term. and Teachers are way underpaid. We could go on and on and on. So I think we should just agree to disagree.

Sorry, they do not deserve that with the garbage that comes out of there. We do disagree. I won't argue about teachers salaries because a friend has a wife who works in the inner city with at risk kids. She deserves her pay. To pay some of the worthless teachers what they get paid, they are not underpaid. Kids are stupid when they graduate because most of these teachers have their own agendas and fail to teach these kids what they need in the real world. You bet we disagree.

With any profession, you are going to have hard working people and you are going to have people doing just enough to not get fired. In a perfect world, we would be able to pay people what they are worth, not what the profession dictates.

These auto workers do just enough to get by. No more, no less. If you try to do a little extra someone reports you. I see you are a socialist so there is no more reason for me to even bother with you. You think everyone should have the same. You know, I think there are other socialist nations in this world. How about you go find one of them, move there and let me keep my capitalism. Makes me want to strive to better myself.

You really don't pay attention - I just said that people should be paid based on how hard they work, not what the profession standards dictate.

I think they served their purpose in their day, and in SOME instances, they MIGHT still be needed. I all depends on the company/industry. Every instance is going to be different.

Bottom line is there are enough unions out there that people won't be paid what they should be paid, they will be paid more than they deserve for doing not enough work.
