The Declaration of Independance states that...
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,— That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government...
This city government has become destructive to the well being of the city itself. And we, the people of Conneaut, not only have a right, but a duty to make a change in our government.

Well said Scarlet Pimpernel! Conneaut City is in competition with Ashtabula City as the laughing stock capital of Ashtabula county. But that would be bad enough if it wasn't so serious. We can no longer afford those in city goverment who are not part of the solution to our problems but rather are a big part of the problems. Wake up voters! This fall we will have the opportunity to make some real changes and dump the "gool old boys" out of office. Times are tuff enough without being lead by the three stooges down a one way street.

Aah, clean bowled Conneaut Revolutionary. I see you are a person of the people and not a sheeple. We need more citizens who will rise up and provide true leadership and LISTEN to the voters. The majority City Council has most certainly forgotten that they serve at the pleasure of the voters, not a few businessmen here in Conneaut. Power to the Voters!

Nah, it will be the same old morons. Or maybe a new crew of morons. Anyone with any smarts would never run for council in Conneaut.

We should get rid of the hired city manager and go back to the elected mayor. The last 3 managers have been nothing but recycled guys looking for an easy retirement jobs. We may as well hire a Walmart greeter.

For some reason the residents of Conneaut keep voting these same people in time after time. I still don't get why?

We still have a huge empty grocery store (for how many years now?) and vacant land where this imaginary truck stop is gonna be built at Gateway. Other people who are trying to get their business going in Conneaut can't even talk to anyone or get any answers...because it "takes time". Our little town will not survive if new business don't come in to Conneaut soon.

The voters need to wake up and vote these blow hard, do nothings out of office!!

Wanna run for council? I know someone who was a councilman for only one term and didn't run again because of all the fighting and negativity. Maybe there should be term limits.

I can understand them not wanting to run again! It stressed me out just watching the meetings on TV!

But I do agree there should be term limits!
Tell me when this thread is updated!
