So much for the right to remain silent.

The right to remain silent doesn't offer the freedom from prosecution upon withholding information. It only means you don't have to have the cops beat submission out of someone.

To simplify it:

You don't have to self-incriminate or tell on yourself.

A citizen shouldn't be charged for not knowing the name of someone who picked her up and gave her a ride.

Lay with the dogs you wake up with flee's. Common we all know what the deal is. Not like they were getting a ride to pick up milk or diapers for the kids or going to work. So Guest call it how it is "Not Citizen", its "Criminals should be charged"

Yes it's true they knew who they were with but so what. It's not their job to nark, it's the cops job to "investigate" and figure it out. Who knows harm could come to them if the narked. Do you really think EP 's Barney Fifes are going to protect them? I highly doubt it. Unless your talking murder or something serious it's not the responsibility of people to nark for police.

It is not marking if you are involved in criminal activities. These 2 of East Prairie's Finest was involved in criminal activities. The police could have just charged them with the crime but since the police witnessed the 2 men flee the cops knew the guns belonged to the men. Why am I even wasting my time on a dumb ass burned out drug head? The two women deserve the charges on them and so do the men. And you can bet if I see or know about criminal activity I with be the biggest nark you ever seen and call the po po. But not local. I will be calling someone from state so the locals can't cut a deal and let the criminals loose. It's time we as citizens take back our streets and community and get the drugs and thugs off our streets and out of town!!!!!

So.....since when is it a crime to have a gun in a vehicle? If you are not a felon you can have all the guns you want in your vehicle, loaded or not. Thats the law. Were these women felons? Maybe the cops could not charge them with the guns and were embarrassed so they charged them with these charges which will not stand up in court and are a waste of taxpayers money to pursue.

The Missouri law on guns in vehicles:

Any law abiding Missouri citizen 21 years of age or older may carry a firearm in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The firearm may be loaded, unloaded, concealed or not concealed. A permit is not required for this purpose. However a permit is required if you wish to carry a concealed firearm in public.

Dumb ass the crime is being a felon in possession of a firearm. If no one was breaking the law then why run from police? As I said another dumb ass brain fried on dope trying to play lawyer and think its fine to commit crimes! Get out of our town cause we are tired of the drugs and thugs!!! Oh and guess what ass hole numb nuts! Get stopped with a gun loaded inside your vehicle and see if you don't get a ticket. Put a loaded shotgun in seat and drive till you get stopped and see what happens!

first of all you can waist tax payer money when your lame ass does not work. LOL oooohhhh EP is such a threat to a nark......lol. Lets also look at the fact a nark is not a nark when they could be part of a crime ...dumb ass. But this is what happens when dopers think they know more than the law and and you do it all with less than a 10th grad education
Lets not worry what trash is going around stealing and doping until it happens to you right!

A nark is a nark when they are given police info on somebody. Like I said before if it something serious like murder etc. that's a different ball game. I don't know these 2 girls personally im not from EP just have family there. And maybe your citizens aren't in danger for being a nark but where I come from if you go around narking on people the cops will be fishing your body out of the river. As far as being a drug addict lol if you only knew. I actually work for the state of Illinois in drug and alcohol counseling, and I don't live off the state either, well in a sense I guess I do get a check a "pay check". I just think people should be made to be put in a situation of potentially putting themselves in danger to be a nark for the police.

Sorry should have proof read a little better. The last part of my comment I meant to say "people shouldn't be made by police to be put in a position that could cause potential danger to them for narking.

true story. I too live in Illinois in a suburb of one of the cities that is on the most dangerous cities in the u.s. list. Majority of the crime is drug/gang related. They don't even dump em in the river anymore they pop em off at the gas station in broad daylight and roll out..and nobody seems to know anything because they are fully aware they'll be next. I've lost count of the homicides this year so far but recently it was reported there have been 200 heroin deaths this year in the city. It's highly disturbing. Quinn's plans to put a stop to it are even scarier. EP folks don't even know. All a normal functioning person can do round these parts is focus on their commute to work, their families, and stay away from certain parts of town at all times and if there's no avoiding certain areas be cautious and alert. It's scary..

Well sounds like you need to think about relocating to a safer place. The problem in my eyes seems to be the fact that law abiding citizens have had their rights stripped from them. I can safely say that if everyone in your town was packing a fire arm and knew how to use it crime and murders would go down drastically. How many shooters ever walked into a police station or gun shop and started shooting people? Because they know everyone in those places has a gun and will shoot back so they don't do it. If everyone is armed crime will fall because the criminals don't want to get shot!!!! Just plain and simple. Most criminals are scared as hell of dying themself. That is why they rob and steal from people that are easy targets. I will tell everything I know on any crime or criminal I know. Want to know why? Cause I am armed and will protect myself by all means necessary. So stand up and take you streets and towns back from the low life thugs that has ruined our nation.

Most would-be snitches have lost their right to carry a firearm.

Maybe you should re-read the article to see why the two men fled.

The fact is this is East Prairie, not where we worry about gangs. If a gang came here trying that stuff I guarantee you the good ole country boys would be the ones who would come out on top. I am so tired of people here brining the town down by being on welfare, not trying to hold a job, taking care of their kids, and doing dope!!!! here is how it should work....GO TO REHAB, GET A JOB, DO NOT DO DRUGS, BE A PARENT, QUIT WORRYING ABOUT WHO SNITCHING CUZ YOU NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG!!!! What is so hard to understand??????? They all end up taking one another down anyway and I do not see bodies laying at gas stations, etc....come on!!!!!!
